I'm sure I missed a few, but here is a recap of the highlights:

Employee Appreciation Day - "I work for you", so you should really appreciate that bite size chocolate candy bar & throwaway mini led flashlight! I realize that it only cost us $2 a head, but at least you got to shake my hand & "Who doesn't like chocolate?"!

Hiring Shortage - We are still trying to hire anyone who isn't qualified, as long as they can pass a background check!

We Have a Retention Problem - Hey, we are bringing back employee family day for the 30% of workers who have kids in the home! Also, with our $50 million record 4th quarter revenue we are hoping to buy everyone a shirt! Once we can scrape enough money together to turn the parking lights on again, we will look into getting those bathroom leaks fixed! You better appreciate that 2% raise coming on April Fool's Day!

Collaboration Is Key - Management is now going to work together to find better ways of screwing you!

Question & Answer (Elephant In The Room) - How long will the doors stay open with Panasonic's giga factory setting up shop just down the road, hiring 4,000 people at an average wage of $40/hr, better benefits and state of the art facilities?

If you have a pulse, and can breathe. This is the only qualification you need. No degrees. No knowledge. Just make it up as you go, the Honeywell way.

At Olathe there is no plan to replace experienced techs and they can't even find entry level ones. They are promoting internally for techs & supervisors but most are not even qualified and many teams are already running a skeleton crew. It used to take at least 10 years to have the experience to be level IV, but now you can jump from II to IV in 3 years!

I know of four Tech IVs who have left in the last month and 2 more coming up in April. That doesn't even count the II/IIIs that are leaving. No one in management wants to talk about it and at this rate I don't see how they can stay open past the 3rd quarter. That is the plan.

Did you notice the recent gov chip subsidies required things like affordable daycare and such from companies taking the money.. bet honeywell wanted no part of that.

Torrance just had another Ice Cream Social last Friday. Of course Honeywell no longer has a operating cafeteria. So wonderful how employees are respected.

The last few years in SPS have been a joke too. Our director would say leadership want us to be more social so we must have group events...great....but who's paying ... not Honeywell!

Years ago Torrance had an "Ice Cream Social" They gave out ice cream bars that may have cost them $0.30 each. So thoughtful of them. And this was when things could be considered good.

Let's face it Ahab & Co. are only paying lip service to "retention" and the possibility of restoring the cafeteria and gym some day. They are making zero capital improvements to the facility!

They are just trying to keep the wheels on the bus until the day in 2023 when they announce the closing of Cedar Creek. Hon isn't required to pay severance and if you think you will get more than 30 days severance then you will have to stick around long enough to train your replacements. By that time the best opportunities elsewhere will already be gone.
