Medical Waiver

Has anyone submitted a medical waiver to not go in the office? Any feedback helps. I heard some people got it and it was approved but I am skeptical about it for the long run of things.

there are two sets of approvals for accommodation.

you apply for accommodation. then;

  • you grant permission for the accommodations team to receive your health information (I.e. to speak with your doctor, review info the doctor has filled out etc. The accommodation specialist makes a determination whether your condition is something for which WFH is a reasonable accommodation. For example, if your issue is chronic back pain and cant sit comfortably, then the accommodation would be to give you a sit-stand desk in the office, not to grant WFH.
  • after that determination is made, the manager is NOT told what the reason is for the accommodation. They are asked "can you have this person WFH without undue hardship to the business" ? If yes, then the accommodation is granted, if not then it is not granted - even if it is medically warranted. This is based on the language in the law.

I absolutely needed to sign a FULL not LIMITED but a FULL medical waiver before my accomodation moved forward. A doctor form is not going to be sufficient. HR wants to talk to your physicians. I did it it concerned me a bit at first but i needed the accomodation so i did not care and trusted privacy

Maybe that is why some get it and some dont. If they. Talk to your physician ad HR agrees after talking to your manager you will receive an official notification. If your disability is permanent it will not have an end date per se

Sign the waiver and move on

In Technology I did need to sign a waiver even though i have the specialist fill out the form i needed to sign a full medical waiver to allow the accommodations specialist talk direretly to my physician. Once they discusssed the options to accommodate the doctor and HR decided at this time remote was the best solution. Then HR discussed with my manager and they approved. I changed jobs and although i did not have to get a new HR waiver I did have to go throug the process and submit a new request for HR to be able to disclose the situreation and have the manager approval. In the new team it had to go to an executive level. In the end i was able to retain but seems some managers understand it or are more willing to accept it than others. To me if HR has stated that this was the most feasible accomodation and far less expensive to WF it would be a no brainer. NOT but just stick it out and hope for the best

My experience with accommodations didn’t go well. My manager was able to disregard my doctors note to his business need. When I get sick, I will sue Wells Fargo
Just waiting for my payoff.
My manager plays on his phone all day and does nothing

Depends on your manager. I got mine approved no problem with accommodations and my old management. Our new manager did not want to approve my peer for the same medical condition without fighting tooth and nail. Ultimately it was approved because no business hardship could be produced.

I had decades of documentation regarding my condition. My doctor’s note wasn’t clear enough. Dr submitted another note after running more tests to validate that it’s still an issue. The accommodations team was very courteous and helpful. I could tell by the nature of their questions, they have been addressing manufactured conditions where people tried to game the system to avoid RTO. As long as you have a substantiated diagnosis, you’re fine.

I have a true medical situation and submitted accommodations to stay working at home until treatment is over in July. After that I’ll evaluate on if I can try a few days in the office and submit another request if needed. Accommodations were very nice to me. My doctor wrote an extensive letter outlining why working from home was in my best interest. It was approved no issues. Had one 5 minute meeting with accommodations and my manager approved. If you have true medical condition that interferes with your ability to work in the office, getting accommodations shouldn’t be a problem.

Serious question: if I get abducted during the alien invasion, who is going to do my work? Assuming the aliens don’t allow me to work while they experiment on me. Are they going to ask to see my leader? Who should I refer them to for that? Charlie or Joe Biden?

go to teamworks and put the word "accommodations" in the search box

That will tell you the process - follow it

If you ha e a true medical reason it should be self explanatory. You having to ask this question here leads me to believe you just have some bullsh-t you want to slip though the cracks

Sounds like a lawsuit if you do have a medical issue resulting them laying you off because of it.

Sounds like a good way to volunteer for the next round of layoffs. Just go to work like yoh were hired to do.
