Job class question

salary range question. In the same location, can a P5 in one job family have the same salary range as a P6 in another job family? I am comparing Risk/control to Tech. If trying to move up should you always consider the higher P# for more compensation?

The org level (P1, M2) is what is considered to determine if the new role is a lateral move or a promotion from your current role.

If the two roles have the same org level (S2 to S2, M1 to M1), you are not eligible for a raise, no matter the job title or grade number (80, 90, 100).

If the new role has a higher level (S2 to S3), then you're eligible for a raise in the new role.

If you move job bands (S to M, M to P), you can still get a raise even if your org level stays the same. (M1 to P1)

When they changed everyone's titles 2 years ago, it could completely sc--w you if you're trying to move roles and get a raise with the new role.

Does that mean I can move from a P5 job in my LOB to a P5 job in another LOB if the new P5 job has a higher salary range?

In retrospect that is the thing with Wells. You get ahead by chance not by merit. Do not think your career will grow while employed at Wells.
The only way I found people "getting ahead" at Wells was to leave Wells... zz for a while and then come back.

You put your right foot in - and shake it all about.
That's what you get.

You need to know the grade number. 120, 130, 140, etc. The grade number determines the salary range. P5, P6 represents org level but grade number drives salary range.
