There is no visionary leadership at GF. Let's be honest GF bought an RF business from IBM which accounts for nearly 40% or more of revenue and is on the decline because we continue to starve it. We pivot out of leading edge which anyone can easily decide to do. Then the industry booms and the semi shortage happens. So, in the past 5 years there has been ZERO visionary leadership!! The only strategic thing was 22FDX which Sanjay enabled when he was the previous CEO. Now 2023 and the next 5 years when supply exceeds demand will tell the real story if GF has any vision at all.

TC is a puppet; his strings are yanked by Tim Breen and Mubadala. There is nothing visionary about what he has done. He did the pivot and got out of leading edge which came from Mubadala as a command to make money short term so they could sell off GF. He got lucky that the shortage of semiconductors was so bad, every fab in the world was full, zero vision there needed. Real visionaries would find ways to keep the fabs full when there is more supply than demand like now. Our 200mm loading has been way down and there is no vision for 2023 to fill these fabs, GaN is being developed but loading for that might ramp up in 2024 or 2025 and even then, we are way behind many others in industry offering GaN. The only visionary technology was 22FDX and that was due to Sanjay when he was CEO, TC had nothing to do with it. TC was another failed IBM exec who was recycled at GF. TC was responsible for Fab8 and the strategy there is a total mess basically due to his lack of vision. GF needs to get rid of TC and his whole group of minions, tell Mubadala to basically be a silent shareholder and then let the new leadership team run the business like UMC and TSMC are where they actually have a vision!!!!!!!

Loving my new job and that fantastic severance package from GF, but missing GF Comedy Central . I know it must be stomach churning for colleagues left behind at GF he-l hole, but for me these special editions of bu-t licking are pure comedy gold.
