Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Anybody have intel about furloughs this year?

Anyone heard any rumors of up coming furloughs? I have a feeling this will be a new standard to boost profit margins.

Aero does not have enough people to keep existing planes safely in the air let alone build new stuff. RIFs targeted at specific product development teams (mechanical) are more likely than furloughs.

Yeah, we are in the last month of the first quarter. Something is bound to happen. I'd really like to get laid off with the raise I just got. 6 months pay and healthcare would be cool. It would be the only good thing to happen to me since Honeywell bought us.

SPS team lead here. Not a director. My leadership is in Singapore. Lots of evening calls, ugh. GK wanted a huge RIF in Feb, but HR and legal could not keep up the pace. We are hearing it's planned for week 12, to recoup some of the raise money that potentially is going out... He is fuming mad over that operating cost % increase in Q2... Furloughs are on the table for Q2 as well, of course, but GK is pushing for his 12% RIF number in SPS hard.

Good luck fellow Honey-not-so-well-ers.

Given Honeywell's stock price performance over the last year, there will be more furloughs and layoffs to make up for it. Because we all know that the Honeywell stock price is all about us underlings performance. The executive leadership has nothing to do with it. :)

I don't even know how to describe last year, either way we have yet to feel the true effects of that catastrophe. Full impact will begin to hit next quarter so I think Q3 Furloughs are an absolute guarantee for those that not in a likely huge RIF. This year ain't gonna be pretty, that's for sure. The tension in our office is palpable.
