Caveat: doesn’t apply to managers. The NLRB decision can only be applied to individual contributors. And there is some analysis that shows with certain disclosures the anti-disparagement and confidentiality provisions may be permissible.

Imagine this: we live in a reality where employers give large sacks of money to people just to get them to leave.

The # of employers who give large sacks of money to people to leave is very small. Cisco is the only company who's given me more than 4-6 weeks of severance pay.

And, because I don't let my ego get in the way, I've been given 2 large sacks of money by Cisco and if they ask me to leave a third time, I'll gladly take that large sack of money again.

Yes you are completely correct. I was LR'd over four years ago and it was honestly one of the best life changing events experienced. I am thankful for the long run of employment from Cisco; that enabled us to raise a family.

It was my time to be LR'd, and at first of course I was disappointed and angry somewhat that I was chosen. I moved from job to job for two years; but then coincidentally found a great job with a great team.

Money is definitely a distant concern now, and much of it was due to the LR money. I paid off all remaining household debts with the proceeds.

Cisco supported us well for years and helped us through the tough years of big family expenses. That phase is now over, so I get to now enjoy an early pseudo-retirement, still do some networking work, but also actually enjoy weekends now; drinking some good beers outside at a great bar downtown.

Thank You Cisco.

I miss the old Cisco, but would never come back at any price, not even as Red Badge.

To those stuck in The Matrix; peace be with you. Wander downtown for a beer or three.

LOL some of you people on here need some serious help.

Imagine this: we live in a reality where employers give large sacks of money to people just to get them to leave. Pretty incredible when you think about it but then the cherry on top...people are unhappy about it! "Waaahh can you believe what a big mean company Cisco is giving me all that money and telling me to hit the skids?"

Actually I take back what I said earlier. Some of you are clearly beyond any help in this mortal coil and probably need God at this point.
