Thread regarding Optum layoffs

The relief I feel every Friday evening is worrying

As is the dread I feel every Monday morning. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I think the majority of us need to start looking for a job that will not bring out such a visceral reaction in us. I've already sent out some applications and I am not even going to look for better pay. Even earning less money in a non-toxic company is better than this.

It’s great that the us corporation has many Filipino call center reps/workers. It’s great that the corporation can save money and make their us capitalist shareholders more billions. Also, all those hundreds of billions for war de jour yet few if any worker rights—it’s like so great to be so proud

I agree, when you work for a company that places profit in front of people, relationships, performance, loyalty, ethics, and longevity, it is absolutely miserable. I made the change, resigned, and it is one of the best decisions of my life. What a difference to work for a company that genuinely cares about their employees!

You will be amazed at how good life is when you get out of there. It is a toxic waste dump.
