@bbqc The competitors are all laughing all the way to the bank.

While Ford has focused on and valued lawyers, lobbyists, generalists and obsequious and toxic climbers. Competitors have focused on engineering and manufacturing talent.

While Ford has focused on press releases touting false accomplishments and virtue signaling, Competitors announce completed and tested products and then proceed sell the s—- out of them.

While Ford hires the dregs from other companies and proclaims they have stolen talent from their competitors, the competitors privately laugh at the double victory- the drain is out of their company and off to destroy their competitor.

Toyota’s has a market cap of $234 billion. Ford is a 120 year old dysfunctional company with a market cap of $50 billion. Toyota has a wide range of successful vehicles compact cars, mid size cars, sports cars, passenger van, cuv, suv, compact trucks, full size trucks, hybrids, EVs, hydrogen — why would they follow the lead of a one-trick pony company that can’t pull off a successful product launch?

It’s so sad watching the company implode. One thing Farley has got right they need to clean house. Unfortunate that they never take out the trash, the trash is always manning the broom handles.

Y'all need to stop makin all this ruckus...

I got hired to Ford last September. And I'm already promoted to a LL6.

Things is great here. Finally a company that UNDERSTAND what it's like for all their employees. They made it more fair to all us groups.

There was a time in this here country when certain groups did the brunt if the work while another groups got all the credit and spoils. Now we are back to that way of life - it's just that you people find y'all on the wrong end of the whip. You ain't had no problems with it before so why start now?

I hope things stay the way they is. It's looking great for so many people nowadays.

Maybe y'all should try taking a knee before NASCAR races to drum up some attention for your cause..

DEI is not our only primary area of focus. Climate Change is also a key focus.

Our diverse Ford Family will lead our company to the top - all while doing everything possible to reduce our impact on the environment and to reverse the horrible effects of climate change as much as possible.

Our competitors would be wise to follow our lead.

@9lew+1m02OR5o DEI has nothing to do with attracting young talent.
The FCG program drives away talent. All of the best technical talent leaves before they complete the FCG program. When the program started decades ago it was brilliant. It is now rubbish. Another casualty of the declining Ford culture.
The way the FCG program works is that LL6 create a job description posting which is then reviewed by a committee and some are selected by the committee as good postings. Then FCGs select their top x jobs and then they are matched to positions. All that is well and good, but then let’s examine the behind the scenes politics.

  • LL6 have an objective to mentor FCGs so they create postings that have no relationship to the actual job. The FCGs end up doing clerical work or no work at all.
  • LL5, LL4 and LL3 remove the LL6 postings that were actually giving FCGs meaningful experiences (and getting 5 star reviews from FCGs) and replace them with their buddies positions that no FCG wants to work for. All this because the LL6s who took mentorship seriously made others look bad in comparison, and well we can’t have that.

Oh and Metro Detroit attracting young talent? NOT. A swing and a miss with the train station.

We are absolutely #4 OR WORSE when it comes to DEI.

Just like Mr Farley said after the SIRP - we trail far behind our competitors when it comes to DEI.

It's why we can't attract talant. Young people - of all political parties - prefer to work with companies that champion DEI.

I think Hackett never adjusted to the behemoth that Ford is - especially being publically traded and having to go through Ford's typical bureaucracy.

Steelcase was privately owned. He only had to convince the owners of his plan and they'd let him run with it.

He wasn't successful here, but I don't think he ever really got to make any of his things happen - at least not fully. He wanted to be revolutionary instead of (typical Ford) evolutionary. He just didn't figure out how to make that happen within the slow moving red-tape world that is Ford Motor Company.

I am not trying to compliment the guy. But now that we have CarCar... I'm seeing Hackett and Fields in a different light.

Man, I hated that stupid straw hat Hackett would wear...

The funny thing is everyone bad mouthed Mark Fields. But you should always be careful what you wish for. Fields was 10 times better than Farley and Hackett put together! At least Fields just tried to ride Mulally's coattails, not a bad strategy actually!

And still Ford comes in last in my book.

You think after 30 years (retired) I would have a better opinion of Ford.

The company was a great place to work until Jac Nassar. It improved during the Mullaly days but it’s been a downhill disaster ever since.

Incompetent….
Mark “used car salesman” Fields
Jim “furniture man” Hacket
And
Jim “know nothing know it all” Farley

Wake the fawk up Bill Ford. I once promoted Ford products but now I discourage everyone I know from buying Ford.

Treat people like garbage and find out what happens.

Correction Ford is run by BF and his cronies.
Note how they ushered AM out early - just as soon as BF, EF and other F thought they could carry on without AM they pushed him out and BF again took control with a succession of different front men. The AM era proved the problem is BF.

So sick of all the demonizing of one demographic by the media and people (and companies) blindly dogpiling on. Soon they will pick another demographic to demonize.

Who is pulling your puppet strings?

GM also overtook its crosstown neighbor Ford as the second-ranked EV maker in the U.S. Ford's tally for the quarter was 10,866 units, constrained by production disruptions.

Customers are getting smarter.

What is with all the hate on HR?

They have no say in any of this. And they are being let go the same as us.

They were gutted during SRD. Most departments bo longer have a dedicated HR person. You have to go through their online portal for everything.

Ford always strived to be a tall mid-et (no offense intended) rather than standing tall leading the industry in product, quality, and performance.

Our mission today is to race EV’s to market and let customers tell us what we have missed at ridiculous prices.

Tallest mid-et in the group and a solid 4 th place.

Our company will be very diverse when we have engineers all over the world. I have heard from friends in HR that many job postings will now require candidates that can speak multiple languages depending on which country will do the bulk of the engineering.

And I have heard that after RTO is 100%, the salaries for new hires will be systematically lowered.

Then we will be successful and beat the competition.

The US is considered the greatest country in the world. Why shouldn't US workers expect to make more money than a LCC worker? These large corporations are creating modern day plantations and the Ford family is no different.

There are brilliant engineers in India and Mexico and South Africa. We need to be more competitive. Our salaries are far too high to ever compete. We need to lower US salaries to keep things affordable. Look to the great state of Oklahoma for inspiration - they are going to decrease maternity leave - no more paid vacations after having a baby. That's how we remain competitive and keep jobs in the US! Look at Walmart. One of the wealthiest families in the country. They pay their workers very low so that they can stay competitive. The Ford office staff and Union folks pushed for higher wages and pushed ourselves right out of our jobs!

I’m amazed by all the posts ignoring the fact that Farley has clearly communicated the redistribution of 85% salaried staff to low cost countries. Read the tea leaves, you wont have to worry about RTO
It’s interesting many years ago when IBM announced their plans to re-distribute the majority of their workforce to low cost countries their salaried staff also put their heads in the sand and thought they were safe. Now only 12% of IBM salaried are in the US AND IBM continues to cut US workforce - they just shut down an IBM site in Austin and moved the work to India.

Yep, and 9 months comes and goes on a blink of an eye. 3 years already past the start of the plandemoc Been almost a year since last April's layoffs. Going on 8 months since August layoffs already!

So enjoy your two days WFH for now. Because before you know it you'll be required back full-time.

Exactly, plus mandating RTO 3 days/week. Treating us like we are elementary school kids. Talent coming in doesnt want to be tied to mandates and restrictions. Whats next, bathroom passes?
