No, it was Charlie Scharf. Who is Schart?

How many times can we sell Oriskany?

Perhaps Oriskany should consider signing up with Home Title Lock?

@8qpg

Not so. Charlie Scharf provided a 3 year heads up that Oriskany would be sold. It was Oriskany workers that decided to go into “Ostrich Mode” style denial.

No good advice for you now, but good luck and I hope you get lucky.

Bnym doesnt own the oriskany building firstly. Secondly oriskany closing is going to happen. Several higher ups have stated it is going to close.

In typical bnym fashion theres no real information being shared. Some managers were told 5 years, while some are saying by 2025 oriskany will be no longer.

BNY Mellon doesn't even own the building, and the company that does, shows no listing on their website.

Still no evidence at all that it's for sale.

Unless some senior manager publicly reverses Charlie’s 3 year guidance that Oriskany will close I would be recommending that you kick off a job search ASAP.

@4gfe, nobody in CNY thinks there was any plan to get rid of Oriskany.
You seem like the typical pushy NYC/NY ideeot.

There is no functionally working link in this thread.

Whomever is trying to share a link should ask their children to help them form it correctly.

And yet you’re arguing only with your coworkers who have been posting about Charlie’s three year heads up on closing Oriskany. Regardless of the truth, Oriskany and Syracuse really do seem to be basket cases. If it weren’t for dysfunction there would be no function at all.

@3pvi

Actually I was out of a job and freelancing to feed and cloth my family and was doing everything in my power to simply to keep the household afloat. Nobody paid me one cent for driving let alone travel time.

It was the most exciting time ever because I learned that I could be self sufficient and compete successfully with the big boys, including BONY. I’ve never shied away from taking big risks ever since in and in fact I’ve become hooked on it.

There was NO "three year Oriskany plan" from Charlie and there STILL hasn't been any announcement of closing Oriskany. Repeating it over and over doesn't make it true.

@2duj

Yes we all understand that the 3 year heads up which Charlie Scharf generously communicated to you is now down to half a year. Don’t you all wish that you were more proactive? “OH NO ONLY 6 months left to find a job why didn’t I start on this 2 1/2 years ago?”

by
| | Reply
Post ID: @4ian+1m6UPlh3

Now what? Well the Bank continues to carry out the three year Oriskany plan which Charlie Scharf sincerely communicated to all Oriskany employees. I’d have been thankful for such a warning but you all have spent 2 1/2 years in denial. I imagine that this final year will be your ostrich year… sticking your heads in the ground to deny reality.

@3qhs, you're delusional if you think Shart mentioned anything about closing Oriskany.

They haven't hired in upstate ny in years. That's not the type of diversity the bank believes in.

The takeaway is that we must never again hire in Syracuse, Oriskany or upstate New York.

@3rqg, the thread on the WARN act was full of misinformation and postings about what people THINK the law should be. There is NOTHING in the law about notifying employees, or giving them severance/sub pay. GS offers those benefits and current has several notifications filed.

Why did Oriskany workers not look for new jobs after Scharf WARNed them that it would close in 3 years? Isn’t that just the best heads up ever? Or is the whining here because people actually liked driving to Oriskany? Or is it because they’re getting tired of waiting for their paid year of Sub vacation?

Whatever the psychosis, can anybody truly explain?

@3jsz

Of course BK is fully compliant with the WARN Act. We had a thread here a few months back about the WARN Act and not only is it a paper tiger, damn near nobody understands it. It comes down to layoff at will and make payments to the Government with no aid to actual people.

Don’t know if it’s for sale but heard awhile back (and not from this site) that it would be closing and the work was moving to a White Plains and Lake Mary

@3fth, you're confused. It's just recent that there are RUMORS of Oriskany closing. Still no WARN notices though. Not that BNY adheres to those laws...

@2mqy, there has been NO notice of Oriskany closing. But that's pretty typical of the top secret BK MENTALity.

Nothing quite says hapless, helpless and hopeless than the Oriskany mentality. I’ve never seen anything quite like this in corporate America. Utterly normal building closures, commuting challenges and business as usual. The only unique aspect is the three years of notice that they received. Can’t see any complaint here.

Nobody’s is forcing you to read it, but don’t ask for censorship or seek professional counseling! A bad decision was made 2 years ago to close a vibrant E. Syracuse location and keep an office in a rural office nowhere. There’s a lot to learn from this very bad decision. No wonder recently the bank let go with the local site leaders who likely were involved with this bad decision along with their corp. boss MW, who’s inexplicably still employed at BNY Mellon!

From Real Estate assessments to free stock distributions to handling taxes & capital gains we somehow seem to hire adults who avoid growing up and learning. I seriously question our ability to hire quality people.

I was just asking the person who posted this thread because I would be impacted. Public records with county don’t change until any sale is completed. So it’s not a proof it’s not on sale just because county records haven’t changed since 2010
