Need more room for diversity hires. RIFs make a lot of sense to make up that room.

Hearing a lot of rumbling that RIFs will now be announced in May with off payroll date of 6/30. Teams that haven't seen them before like care, front line will be impacted. Outsourcing will continue to be a priority … good luck!

That isn't all VGS does lol

I'm in VGS and have nothing to do with stores

VGS has been impacted as it should. Last months they quietly RIF’d a few. However, the outsource ops people do all the operational work for VGS in our stores. All the VZ VGS people do is fill out a checklist and leave….really…. This is something a store manager can do! I was told by one of them that there is an entire layer of these folks running around nationally.. and to make it more interesting they’re all driving corporate vehicles…our store team can easily fill this gap.

You should expect that the RIF will happen in the third week of May with off payroll on 6/30. If WARN is triggered in your location then it will extend the 6/30 date by appropriate days. My manager said they had to do stack and rank. You should expect cuts with groups that have never seen them before. She said that no voluntary VSP is coming. Only after all this will the Price Waterhouse Cooper Fit for Growth plan trigger outsourcing overseas for jobs that have have always been in the USA. The jobs are white collar band 6,7,8. They are looking to move more jobs to India and other locations. My manager made it sound like a money savings plan for Verizon to get low wage workers but she didn’t say a date on those moves. Good luck to all of you!

“5G paying off now” that’s hilarious, when I left in 2018 EVERYONE in “the know” (can you figure out who?) knew it was a bust, lol

If you been here a good 15 or 20+ years here and you haven’t plans for things like this. That’s your problem. Since the early 2010s this rif stuff was common place. Now more because of poor leadership. But if your not financially ready for the hammer to fall. That’s your poor planning. Good luck. I would like 8 months off paid. But I’ll keep milking this joint till the end. Good luck suckers.

This corporate demise, debacle, is the result of the latest C-Suite set of blunders and as a resultant of this current captain of the Titanic like sorrow. Where/what are members of the Board-of-Directors, what if anything is being done, and are these members being re-elected?

They give us little , customers use us as punching bags and upper mngmt allows it! I’m sick of taking calls and apologizing that our service is Sh*^. I’m sorry for apologizing we have no offers to save money as we are hurting bad that we got to up sell every call. Sorry not in sales guys, I’m in support . I feel like we have waited to long to cut the fat. It should have been done way back in the early pandemic 20/21 easily. Way to many blue jeans jockeys making hundreds of thousands of dollars to pretend they are working and take/make one BJeans call. Most of those people are still working side jobs at the same time also just milking it. Consumer group alone is bloated. Business group is bloated.

Why dont we just have a big RIF, deep enough that we dont have to go through this cycle multiple times

Notifications are supposed to go out by end of June. It is supposed to be a big hit as discussions are that 1Q is bad. Organizations that were recently hit, will not be touched like in GNT. Best of luck to all.

Our Director hinted that all this was confidential , and indicated that the WARN act will come into play. They just weren’t sure of number of employees impacted and said it would be by end of June. Not sure if that means off payroll or notice date. It does appear to be public knowledge as everyone seems to know. Good luck to all

Does not matter what rumors are heard, look around yourself and come up with a solution to how this Co. Can survive with the current leadership, orgs, directions if any...no way it can continue like this .. Of course something has got to give
