Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Too much dead weight?

I don't blame the people who are overpaid considering they have very little to do, but the people who so thoughtlessly employed so much dead weight.
Intel has a lot of it.

Proposed solutions? Actually layoff the bad hires, not just targeted business units.

A huge amount of HR went, but at least in our group engineering was hardly touched

Yeah, it is so frustrating. Intel has most dead weight among tech companies. But yet other companies are trimming head count much more than Intel. I don’t know what purpose this approach serves.

Who is deadweight OP?
We need names and WWIDs.

What are your proposed solutions? Maybe all the “good” people should just leave then, or maybe OP Is the deadweight complaining on a layoff forum.

It's such a shame, I see good people leaving because they can't be paid a basic market rate, while we keep a load of terrible people on who can't pass basic competence tests
