Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

"One of the best companies" according to Warren Buffet

is not Intel...https://finance.yahoo.com/news/buffett-taiwan-semiconductor-is-one-of-the-best-managed-and-most-important-companies-in-the-world-173016874.html
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett said a lot by not complimenting US semiconductor makers at the Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A, BRK-B) annual meeting on Saturday.

Instead, Buffett heaped praise on his one-time chip play: Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM).

"Taiwan Semiconductor is one of the best-managed companies and important companies in the world," the 92-year-old Buffett told a crowded CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. "I don’t like its location and reevaluated that, ... [but] there's no one in the chip industry that's in their league, at least in my view."

Let's try to compete with IFS, looool

He dumped TSMC stock in order to pressure it to build factories here, where he and the rest of the elite can have control, not because he believes a war will break out over there.

"Why would anybody use IFS? "

All I have seen is the talk about "Intel needs IFS", not "why customers need IFS". The only hope is for war. But it is not going to pan out. Xi is not going to invade and risk the possibility of losing what he already has. And Taiwanese are Chinese. If you have worked with them, you know.

Companies come and go... Intel is going - the details are still TBD but most of the current employees are not at fault. Intel has suffered under terrible leadership and poor management for decades. Intel could have conducted a grade 12 and above lottery to choose a CEO and selected a better CEO than several of Intel's previous CEOs. Anyone with a 4 year degree in finance could have done what BS did, (share buy-backs). Intel is finished. The employees should not be sad - they should face reality and move on. GLTA>

Companies cannot be saved. But shareholders can, if acted quickly and decisively.

I remember Kodak, Nokia, Blackberry, GE, IBM, SUN, HP, DEC, Xerox. All had lots of money and leadership delusions at the end.

Failed to realize business model and arrogant culture and reality versus reality distortion doesn’t fix either a flawed business model or economic reality.

Government subsidies can’t save intel
