It seems that too many of you guys are going into locations not identified as your 'home' location and are causing shortages of seats for those that should be in that location. Reporting will soon find you out and access to the 'non-home' location will be taken away. Can they make things anymore difficult?

A coworker and I somehow got our locations switched. I’m 8 miles from theirs and they are 5 miles from mine. Met in the middle one week and now we have each other’s badges.
We asked our boss for months to fix it and they claimed they couldn’t figure it out so we did. This place is ridiculous.
I am wearing my COVID sweats and sneakers to RTO. No use getting dressed up to go sit and watch tv and shop online. FRTO
Not my location. 4 people on an 8 thousand square foot floor that don't even work together. Oh, and we have a vending machine with two three year old pistachio bags in it.

Honestly, they need to address dress code. It's terrible. Old jeans, sneakers, hoodies, etc. Seriously, did these people come in to do yard work?

no dress code enforced for tech other than no ripped jeans and advice to check the mirror before you leave the house....if you're not sure if what you're wearing is appropriate--best practice is to change
my assigned location/floor is neighborhood and unassigned seating. interesting how some people have "claimed" cubes in the unassigned space. Workplace tells me that I have an assigned seat...that's totally false a a LOB occupies that space--

No they aren't. We do not have a problem with not enough seats yet. They are not lining up the log in locations work location at this time
This is what happens when the badge system doesn’t have an approval process.
Just go into the system and assign whatever location you want.
I took a job specifically because of the location, it said so on my offer letter. Now they’re trying to make me go to the city because they said the recruiter messed up. Trying is the key word.
I was full remote before accepting that role. I will never go into the city but will continue working at my agreed location three days a week. If they try to push that issue they’re going to be in for a bad time.
So if you go to multiple locations you will now need to plan to arrange for access credentials each time

Your manager should have asked you which location you prefer. They can update it, I was in the incorrect location and it was changed.
This is a problem in my assigned location. I’m in a “hub” city with multiple locations and my location is in the burbs where many people live. The downtown location has more office space, but many of the folks assigned there choose my location to save on the commute and quite frankly, the parking expense. I empathize and would do the same. However, it does get very crowded here and it is next to impossible to snag a closed door office, which, let’s be honest, most of us prefer. It’s frustrating when I see all of those offices occupied by the downtown folks. This happens every day. Perhaps WF should pay for parking if they really want to double down on RTO by enforcing assigned locations. Or maybe have more office space located where people live.
CPG will fix the glitch without Chaos. It's been clearly communicated that we are only supposed to go to our singular assigned location which is a sub-optimal assignment for some. I have no doubt there are disgruntled folks assigned to locations further than they want to commute so they go local, it has happened in my team.
At-least in my tower, requests to change assigned locations have all been rejected as of late. I don't see what kind of "chaos" it can create but why not play the game and create the chaos? I see proclamations of "this will create a problem" time and time again here but it doesn't matter if we're not in the decision making tree. So you follow along and let the problems happen, but don't spend energy on fixing them. Then they'll learn or not.

Doubt they can without causing a LOT of chaos. Some of us have teams or responsibilities in multiple locations.
They need to stop wasting our time with pointless BS like this. Also, I guess they can fire the tech guy that does the "with our new system, you can work from anywhere!" presentations about the future of work at the company. Just assign desks and buy desktop PCs if that's the stupid direction they want to go in.
