Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Back in the office illnesses

Back in the office and have already been hit with stomach flu, strep throat and RSV. People can and do come to work sick to save their PTO. Now they have us crammed like sardines and we sit at random germ filled desks. Next thing you know COVID will re spread again. Who is this id--t that thought this was a smart idea? At least let me have my own space again to sanitize and keep sick people out of! FRTO!!!!

My manager gave me a long run avg # that was an average of each week back several months. It was below 3. They said if I came in 3 extra days to "make up" that week, my long run average would be back to 3+.

If you were smart and at all forward thinking, you would take advantage of the opportunity to build your immune system up.

FRTO. Not going to compromise my immune system to get all the diseases going around.

your manager is wrong (or you are just a troll).

  1. the manager just has to have documentation. they are too lazy or incompetent if they haven't taken the 10 seconds to write it down in workday.
  2. your numbers/story doesn't make any sense. if it was just one week in feb, and you've been good before and after that one week, your manager wouldn't be getting pressure about you. the pressure is on people who have been under 2 days per week on average for the prior 3 months AND have been less than 3 days a week on average for prior 4 weeks. so one week in feb wouldn't trip that.

30 day exemptions are available if your manager submits the form. You however cannot just have rolling 30 day exemptions.

This sounds like your manager is just too lazy to go through the effort to document what he needs to document and communicate it to the leaders in your LoB.

I had an interesting chat with my manager a few weeks ago. I've been RTO for 3 days a week this year except when I had covid in Feb and my manager and I agreed I wouldn't come into the office that week. It was mild and I could WFH and not need to take PTO. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. My manager said they got a notice that I was non-compliant on my RTO. They said at the level these RTO reports get reviewed, no one has a clue why you are WFH, so to be safe, I should take PTO or just come in. In other words, the documented WFH when sick policy may be irrelevant in terms of your RTO days.

If only people had functioning immune systems. Gee, I wonder why they suddenly don't these last few years. Bah, I'm sure it's just a coincidence. And things.

WF needs to provide dedicated sick days as part of their benefits package just as many other companies do. 5 sick days per year is pretty standard.

I go in early to specifically stink palm keyboards in “sanitized” offices. Let that sink in for a moment.

Exactly the reason we need to sponsor highly educated H1B visa. They are the single most effective solution to labor skill shortages to date.

People shouldn’t come into work sick. If they can work from home fine and want to save PTO, they should simply inform their manager they are staying home due to illness. As long as they have a documented reason why they didn’t come into the office 3 days per week over a short-term period, they should be fine.

The principle is sound. To avoid illness, expose yourself to germs, enabling your immune system to develop antibodies. I don’t know why everyone doesn’t do this… Maybe they have something against living forever.
