Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Breaking Point

I didn't leave just because it would be difficult for me to start from scratch again. I know many people who are dissatisfied and think that the future of Fors is not very bright, but they are still here, probably until they reach the breaking point. What was your breaking point when you finally decided to quit?

I see a lot of people interacting in this thread in a positive way.

I don't care how the question/ conversation ended up here - it is a good one.

Seriously? You posted the same thing in the GM group? Get a better hobby for God's sake. Trolling people who are just trying to make a living is pathetic at best.

@nxs I was part of the 2019 layoff. Like you, there were no local jobs at the time so I had to take a job out of state. I was fortunate to be able to get a (trusted) tenant in my home in Michigan while I took that job. I was paid more at this new job so the rent I charged in MI was reasonable (below market standards for an apartment) and I was able to put a lot more money into investments and retirement. I don't know your situation but is this something you can look into?

(I left that out of state job after my 1 year contract was up and came back to MI where I was able to take some time off and got a new job. My tenant moved out after a year as he was able to save up money for a house.)

Golden handcuffs.

I haven't been able to find anything in the SE Michigan area that will equate to my current compensation, and I am not yet ready or willing to relocate.

God knows I've tried. Oh lord how I have tried.
