Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

My Challenge to John Stankey and the rest of the AT&T Brass

I don't know if any C-Levels or executive managers monitor these boards, but I have a challenge for AT&T. If you want to make people more productive, instead of putting them back into an office, why don't you, instead, do something positive? Instead of infantilizing us, why don't you instead change the pay structure? Why don't you offer 50% of all employee pay in stock options? 25% in January and 25% in July. Make all employees in AT&T shareholder, until the majority of AT&T is employee owned.
You see, most employees, especially after COVID, have realized all corporations are just simply carrot and stick. You take that carrot and dangle it in front of our faces just far enough away so that we can never get a bite of the carrot. So lead for real. You want stock prices to go up, give us some real skin in the game. Enable it so that we too can be wealthy. Offer your employees the same opportunities you have John!

Ole Eddie Whitacre, just another thief in the night. I wonder how much he saved SBC with his stock option bonus ripoff? $100M?

Yes the executives do monitor the board here but they don't have information to follow up to get more details about changes to make to keep you happy.

"Demands and threats eh?"
"Ridiculous post. Seek employment elsewhere."

I don't see any demands or threats. I also don't see hot this post is ridiculous. Bargained employees negotiate packages all the time. Why does everything have to benefit the BOD? Why can't a rising tide raise all ships- shareholder and employee? It is a creative solution. Easy to criticize and tear down. Harder to build people up and create.

Demands and threats eh? No wonder companies like AT&T are off-shoring. Grow up and work for the salary you negotiated when hired. Otherwise quit and go somewhere else.

Would never agree. Years ago Whitacre gave all managers SBC stock options for our annual bonus. Guess what? We ended up receiving $0. No joke stock options never exceeded the price of stock value. What a fricken joke, go pound sand su---r.

The stock is way too diluted for the company to do this, there are too many shares out-standing which makes the stock undervalued. If anything, T needs to buy back shares from shareholders to elevate the price per share. Don't hold your breath, stock options will never happen. ATT used to give shares to employees for every quarter worked or something like that, but stopped the program. I still have the actual paper, (stock certificates) indicating the number of shares issues to me.

I’m sure this will be well received, and will be implemented swiftly.

I’m sure the board is monitored. Doubt execs read it though.
