Retired Ex Ameritech management but no love for Chicago though. Very political place full of nepotism - talent counts for nothing. Stankey can take out L3 and above and not miss a beat.
Ameritech has nothing to offer this company. SBC bought a few customers, old landline equipment and unskilled employees. The sooner AT&T is out of Chicago the better off they are
Maybe Stankey is unaware of the at&t corporate center in downtown Chicago? It's a fantastic complex and would rival Whitacre Tower in Dallas any day of the week.
I have a suspicion that Stankey is jelly of this complex in Chicago. He doesn't like to be "outdone" by any other city.
Let's all give Stankey the benefit of the doubt and just assume he doesn't know about at&t corporate center in Chicago!
AT&T Chicago IL deserves to be a hub location just like Los Angeles, San Ramon, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, Middletown, Bedminster, DC, and St Louis

AT&T mid-management and "leadership" are a basket full of deplorables. And that's on both entities. The macro economics with the city did not do the city any favors either. Somebody mentioned it. They're not shutting down Chestnut St. for Randolph - 61-story or not. A whole bunch of nobodies in that building.
Chicago is still home to the 61 story AT&T Corporate center in downtown Chicago. I'm not quite sure why that isn't a designated hub, but my guess would be the crime rate in Chicago is completely out of control all over the city! There isn't a safe place anywhere in the city, car jackings, physical as--ults, mu---r, theft, the city is up in flames and nobody is will to do anything about it!
Doesn't ATT still have the high rise building on Monroe and Franklin in downtown Chicago or did they sell that? I believe it was built in the late 80s.
A core data center is in St. Louis as well...they can't abandon that so soon.

Chicago, take the train & use wageworks for a commute discounted monthly pass. suburbs are nice and cost less. Sorry, T sold building at corner of Chicago depot. About 15 minute/0.75 miles to most Chicago buildings. Two 10 story buildings on 510 Federal St, have about 20 craft (good co-workers) and 4-6 in other building. I'm mgt and craft help often with building problems. They maintain switches on 2 basements and service Chgo.
Also 1-2 homeless will regularly break in to get out of cold and hide. Problem started years ago when security cameras & alarms removed by T to save money.
When Weiss and Notebaert were building The Hoffman Estates Campus, they kept hounding and hounding IN, WI, MI, and OH to send more money! I am not kidding they had an insatiable appetite for money. They damn near gold plated that palace!
