Hosing on Demand

http://www.autoextremist.com/
“ It’s obvious that manufacturer operatives have huge dollar signs in their eyes with the promise of “Software Monetization” and “Features on Demand.” And the transition to EVs is only fueling their optimistic greed. But if they can’t build EVs fast enough without catastrophic quality issues to meet – the alleged – demand, and the national and local infrastructure isn’t even close to being there, then what are we talking about here?

We’re talking about auto company CEOs and COOs making flawed assumptions about the future of profitability, fumbling their way out of the car business and stumbling deep into Software He-l, aka Hosing on Demand.

I’ve seen this movie before; it never ends well. ”

@jdq The problem at Ford is that it is an applause only club.
No one provides truthful feedback upwards.
The gullible and naive think oh the great leaders are saying XYZ so of course it is true.
The great leaders are thinking everyone is applauding, so my ideas and plans are wonderful.
Then a toddler comes along and states the obvious. But are they believed or told to be quiet? Of course the latter as Wow what a crushing blow to the great leaders egos if they admit they are wrong. Better to burn FMC to the ground than be wrong.

@jdq

"I have never yet seen any plan which has not been mended by the observations of those who were much inferior in understanding to the person who took the lead in the business." - Edmund Burke

The truth or falsity of a criticism is not dependent on the position in the hierarchy occupied by the criticizer.

OP, there is a reason that blogger is not a CEO or in any kind of leadership in a large mobility company. It is easy to complain about leader's decisions when you aren't a leader.

Ford executives are making the right tough choices to keep Ford sustainable.

Maybe they should focus first on trying to stabilize the napalm b*b battery clusterfck that EV's are, before their greedy little azzes push tech monetization.

All these corporations claim to be tech companies now, yet they are doing everything non-technical. He-l, in my corporation, I can't even get proper wires for my computer, proper and efficient connection without firewall issues, OR IT to fix an issue without immediately wanting to close out the ticket in five minutes - with the issue unresolved.

Just because these corporations claims they are a tech company, does not make it so. Not in the least.

Peter has it right. Everyone I know is sick and tired of all the subscriptions and nickel and dime-ing. The trend is to cutting cords, cutting subscriptions, reducing installed apps.
Boy Genius is ensuring the demise of FMC.
