@2puh+1mGBbhnX It is difficult to admit past bad judgements, as it would be an indictment of a misspent career/life. Sometimes it is easier to slam that door shut and wallpaper over it.

Doug Fields is a joke! That Bill and Jim brought him given his track record prove that they have no clue what they are doing.

1lpj+1mGBbhnX you make Doug Fields sound like the second coming of Alan. When we look at his resume he has demonstrated he does not stay any where very long average 3 years. longest i think was five? So that is a very legitimate concern.
Second he is not a software guy but a ME. So there are some very valid issues with the latest type of people Ford elected to hire in top positions.

@1zdk I hear you on the universities churning out graduates pre-baked and indoctrinated with whatever is fashionable / paid for by current donors. For example, Medical degrees are sponsored by BigPharma.

Decades ago everyone was required to be proficient in English and have prerequisite levels of math and science to attend a university. Then to graduate complete the designated curriculum.
Around 2000 we stopped recruiting from several of the liberal universities as the graduates simply didn’t have the technical knowledge and skills required. For example we would recruit from OSU, MSU, ISU but not OU, MU, IU.
Here in 2023, we only recruit students with a Masters of Science or PHD as the college grads with a bachelors degree are roughly equivalent to high school education of decades ago.

The universities have gone off the deep end.
Recognizing Ebonics as an acceptable language to complete homework in? What nonsense! No professional journal will accept research published in Ebonics. No professional environment will accept professional communication in Ebonics. They are knowingly setting up students to fail, but hey thank you for paying us $100K to coddle you for 4 years.
Then the requirement to pledge fealty to their DEI ideological framework in order to stay employed. Cray-Cray. It has been and always will be the case that those publicly claiming DEI support and shaming others are the same ones who are actually keeping those people down. Watch the deeds not the words.

@1lpj+1mGBbhnX New Tech hires do not know how to design and build quality vehicles, they only know how to add whimsical features that drive up the cost of the vehicles and create more TGW with accompanying customer dissatisfaction. Good luck wallowing in the fantasy pig sty that Doug and Jim swim in.

@1zyr If the family is truly unhappy, you would think that they would put 2 and 2 together and come to the conclusion that all of this mess can be traced back to the family member who is responsible for the last 3 CEO hires. Billy is the one who keeps getting bamboozled by these frauds.

@1hkh+1mGBbhnX. That is right. Making money selling a product that people want is much more difficult than the government mandate model. The problem is, the company is now full of true believers. It is what the universities churn out. The all in EV mentality is the same mentality that mandated a shot that wasn't even tested for efficacy in stopping transmission.

For those not paying attention Ford bought Petey and Jenny. Ford hired political lobbyists (ehem moola distributors) to push their EV, data and subscription agenda along with sticking it to Elon to gain a leg up. Those who can’t compete, cheat. The desperation you see from Ford, is they know the next election will change the playing field. They cannot compete on a level playing field. They can only win if they can convince the government to force adoption of their scheme via legislation. Elected officials know the majority of US citizens realize it’s all a just money grab. Notice how the initial PR spin had mass adoption of EV by 2024. Ford botched their paid for opportunity. Oopsie there goes another iconic company.

@1lpj I believe that those who are draining the Ford coffers are spin the tall tales and reporting on false accomplishments. And people whose livelihoods depend upon repeating tall tales have fooled themselves into believing all the nonsense.
Everyone without a dog in the hunt can see straight through JF, DF and all their sycophants. Anyone who thinks they can dictate to the American consumer their product choices doesn’t have much life experience. Proof is in Ford’s ever declining market. Ford has zero power over consumers. By the time the Ford pulls its head out, their market share will have evaporated. Jeez are you really that daft? Or do you only socialize with people who are parroting the nonsense? Spend a bit of time in a cafe in middle America/rural America and you will hear just what consumers think of JF and Ford

@1lpj+1mGBbhnX. Investors don't value Ford as a digital mobility company. DF was a terrible hire. What does it take to recognize his leadership has been a complete failure?

You are wrong on a couple of counts. First, with the company total transformation Ford is now considered a mobility company, and more specific a digital mobility company with prime focus on subscription services, data and software. You don't believe that? Then if you are a Ford employee just go to the Ford internal homepage and you will find resources to help you.

Secondly, more of the new high tech company hires have had successes at Ford than not. Doug Field is a great example.

The family is not happy. JF time is limited. The problem is the bench is empty, JF saw to that, he eliminated his competition. Tough sell to recruit an engineer who is also CEO material. All of the Silicon Valley type recruits have proven to be wholly unsuited to lead a manufacturing company. Of course there are those still trying to shine us all on (DF).

@1wti At the beginning of the year I thought that Jimmy would be gone @september 1st, but now I'm not so sure. Billy hired Fields and Professor Moonbeam and they lasted only 2-3 years. GM has had Mary Barra for @9 years and the optics of hiring a new CEO every 3 years are not good. I am thinking that Billy is going to stick with Jimmy for awhile longer. He couldnt do too much more damage could he?

At least with Kwame we'll know we're getting ripped off, but he'll be smooth and do it with style. That's better than the Legend who awkwardly insults us the whole time he's losing money hand over fist.

Guess you have to lose your reasoning and common sense to be a mobility company employee.

Go Scotty, truth hurts the Kool-Aid drinking mobility crowd.

Is this youtuber related to the auto extremist blogger? They both don't know how to run a mobility company in this era and hardly have the credentials to do so.

ded+1mGBbhnX Your comment is dead on. People forget BF ran the show once before (01-06) and was fired by his own family. Reference Spring of 06 FREE PRESS Article. He demonstrated then he was a deer in headlights. Totally clueless as to what it takes to run a company. His recent selections as CEO demonstrate this. Hackett & Farley. If you look at Alan he was the total polar opposite of BF in every aspect of the business. So they need to get that person who selected Alan and bring them back. Because it was not Billy.
At the present rate the way things are going the company may go chapter 11 inside of 10 years or less. Company has lost its realistic focus.
