Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

36 months for Dallas/Atlanta management relocations

Looks like the speculation here was on point. The other hubs will eventually be closed down and the end goal is to essentially have everyone at these two campuses. You will be assigned a location and will have no say in the matter.

Mind you, there were a lot of "probablies" in the message, but as we all know: probably + requires spending money = not happening. Probably + cost cutting measure = definitely so.

The only exception to this rule are the shadeholders, but don't hold your breath.

The plan is too replace US employees with employees in India or Israel. There will be only top executives roaming in Dallas and Atlanta.

Don't forget about Cingular and Ralph DLV! Absolutely ruled Downtown Atlanta.

I can’t imagine DC will ever be shut down. FCC and Congress. No chance that will happen, too important to the company not to have presence in DC.

The old Bellsouth building in Downtown Atlanta was sold off a couple years ago. Only office in the Downtown now is the adjacent building that is 12 floors which is already full of contractors, CWA and one floor for managment.

When you say Dallas or Atlanta, is it one building in particular or is it any office in the area? I’ve never been to Dallas, but I know Atlanta had a ton of office buildings as BellSouth was headquartered there and Legacy T also had a large presence there.

Dallas or Atlanta?

That should be enough to start an exodus of a large swathe of employees.
