Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

1995

The last time our stock price was this low.

Doing a bang up job, leadership.

And you wonder why you can’t get the employee base to get on board with your decision making.

Everything you touch turns to $hit.

And you have no evidence or data to argue otherwise. Then the employees are the ones paying for YOUR terrible leadership and business management.

I am shocked you aren’t stopped in the halls of HQ and ridiculed. You have the audacity to talk down to employees, all while being the root cause of the corporations current conditions.

"They will lose 30% of their talented workforce." - stats are fun. So 30% of like 20% of the management force because the entire workforce isn't "talented". I'd say 20% is talented...another 30% is skilled at doing the job they are trained to do and the other 50% just faking it till they make it (or get terminated). I've worked with many talented folks...just incredible talent. Others are beneficiaries of these talented people's decisions.

"Climbing a telephone pole and complaining doesn't make you talented." - yeah I've been on strike duty...80%+ of those in strike training had no clue what basic terminology was much less could secure a ladder to the pole. And good luck with getting them to climb it on a strand. It was funny to watch. I was an IT person (desk jockey) but I have much respect for the job the outside plant folks do...not only knowing how to make the network function (given the limited budgets they are given) but in adverse conditions. Outside plant techs could say the same about 75% of the management force as well. This shouldn't be an "us vs. them" debate. I'm fully separated from AT&T (except for medical benefits) and it's unfortunate to read such disrespectful for other employees. Now leadership is another story.

And you have to factor in AT&T changing toilet paper brand that is not as soft. So much more unpleasant when wiping. Total bad leadership.

The best part is when you correct for inflation, T's stock isn't even worth what it was back in 1995. I mean, if we round T stock price to $18 today that would be just under $10 in 1995. The 95 stock price in today's dollars would be near $35.

Which means Stink has managed to bravely lead T shares to about 50% of value from 30 years ago!

Now that kind of leadership is rare indeed.

They will lose 30% of their talented workforce. This company is the worst culture run by arrogant S0Bs.

Apparently the shareholders are okay without even getting a reach around. Only 4.8% of the shareholders disagreed with the BOD choices yesterday.

The stock was so much higher when we owned DirecTV and Warner. What happened?
