Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hi Charlie and the Board of Directors, please do what you are hired for!

Where is your leadership and commitment? Do you have a clear long term strategy for WFC? Why do you think the asset cap since 2018 ( you’ve been the CEO since 10/2019) has not been lifted and will likely not in the near future? You can’t even be a good CEO during normal years, how can you “lead” WFC without a clear long term strategy during crisis ? WFC has historically been America’s Main Street bank and that’s what defined our identity and success. But you want to change it to a JPM lightweight. You are managing only the short term bottom line by headcount (cutting jobs and offshoring to India and the Philippines) and telling small customers to leave the bank so bigger customers meeting high hurdle rates can replace the smaller ones (since the bank can’t grow under it’s the asset cap.) All these are shortsighted fixes and without a long term strategy.

As a long time employee, I ‘d like to hear, for once, a clearly defined goals and strategies and action plans from you, not to mention something that all leaders in crisis do, rallying the employees, so that WFC can truly be a first class bank again.

Hi Board members, you need to do your job, remember you don’t get paid hundreds of thousands a year for nothing, you are tasked of oversight responsibilities, you may be liable for lawsuits if you are grossly negligent!

When will shareholders revolt? The stock has been a terrible investment. Granted most bank stocks suck but Wells Fargo stands alone as the shittiest. Where’s the endgame for the asset cap? What’s a real long term strategy for consumer banking including mortgage and auto and business banking (I.e. the bread and butter WF was built on……what’s the plan if those business lines are being shut down or significantly shrunk?)

The media never asks these questions of Charlie or the BOD, and I guess shareholders are (so far) fine with it.

Chuckles is doing his job. Enrich himself and the BOD at the expense of the company.

OP - we are 100% in agreement. I am wondering what is wrong with the world when soul-suckers like Charlie & Co and the BOD are allowed to personally prosper from harming/ taking advantage of others. These executives are exploiting the bank’s weaknesses in broad daylight and pocketing as much cash as they can before our shareholders or the Feds or the bank’s customers wisen up.

Unfortunately, the Fox has been put in charge of guarding the hen house.

The BOD knows exactly what it’s doing. The displacement of subject matter experts, offshoring, ESG, and shutdown of entire departments. All of it is intentional and according to plan. Investors are blind and do not question the BODs opaque strategy. The government imposes fines, and corp happily pays. I can only speculate, but the pattern of behavior matches that of selling the company. Strip it down to nothing but assets and and easily disposable workforce with no natively built technology.
