Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Bad timing for Moms !

Was it run by DEI that this probably punishes moms the worst?

Kids are about to be out of school (who doesn't like paying for unplanned daycare? $$$$)
.....and are now freaking out about where they will be in Sept.

I'm a dude, so it actually make things easier for MY family........but I know a lot of kick a-s moms that will leave because of this stupid and totally arbitrary decision.

I am not a fan of what the corporation is trying to pull here...but you using your childcare issue as an argument to keep things the way they are only weakens the overall argument. Your employer is not responsible for providing you a childcare solution.

WFH was never meant to be childcare. States that right in the wfh policy.

what do you think folks that had kids pre-covid did? We had day care when they were young, after school care, and summer camps. All paid for out of our own pockets. You're gonna have to suck it up and do the same, you'll handle it.

Do you want a paycheck? Ask yourself that question. Childcare is not included, apply at Meta please.

We shouldn’t have our kids at home anyway during the day. We’re supposed to be working.

Sorry, can’t sympathize with you in this topic, even WFH you need daycare. You’re supposed to be working. Mine all went to “summer camp” until they were teens. Gotta do what you gotta do. It’s a part of being a working parent, sorry.

Let be honest here, if you live in a hub city childcare during the summer is a a minor inconvenience compared the real issue for many of having to move your entire family to a new state to be in a hub.

Work from home was never about providing childcare

Next you’ll complain the return to the office is cutting into your ability to work for four companies at once
