Let go for non compliance to RTO

Does anyone have any info on people being let go for non RTO. From what I'm told they recieved a flat 12 weeks not 2 weeks per year. As I understood non compliance was to effect your performance review negatively 1st. From what I'm told they were not given time to catch up days or asked to start comming in. Does anyone have info on this or know if there is apolicy on it in writing?

Thank you!

“You've never dealt with the NYS unemployment appeal board when an employee claimed they were fired for no reason. I have, and it's almost impossible to win even if you document that they just quit showing up”.

I had no idea. For the first time since the merger I finally understand how and why so many incompetent New York workers still have jobs. Thank you… this is nothing short of amazing and really explains a lot.

@2hlg, you've never dealt with the NYS unemployment appeal board when an employee claimed they were fired for no reason. I have, and it's almost impossible to win even if you document that they just quit showing up.

I’d be very worried if I were you. You gambled, appear to have lost and now you’re facing a greatly reduced package. Your only option is to grovel before your manager.

People being let go for non RTO should be lucky to get 12 weeks only and honestly it should be 2 weeks total. By refusing to RTO they are essentially quitting. Two weeks of pay is standard. We are at will employees and the bank is an at will employer.

Two weeks is standard everywhere. Two weeks is actually too much.

What an odd viewpoint you have. Agreed…. unfortunately you don’t have much.

Of course they’re using it as a layoff tool, but there’s no risk of a lawsuit whatsoever. You’re not going to see anyone file suit and win for failing to meet employment requirements. You’re also going to see some very tiny packages as one would expect for completely non compliant employees.

Post Unfortunately I don’t have much. “Compliance” for RTO with the amount of loopholes they have and the fact that you aren’t able to see your swiping history would explain what you said though. They’re using it as a layoff tool and rather than risk a lawsuit they pay out money to keep people quiet.

No, non compliance was never meant to effect your performance review negatively. However it was intended to affect your performance review negatively which, in effect, will affect you.

You’re likely to be on the list so find a good writer to work on your résumé.

Of course there’s a policy. You can should become familiar with mysource. It beats asking Internet randos for info that you have at your fingertips. Everybody in the Bank also gets training on HR and other policies every year.

Do we only hire Whineraners here?

VVV Well, I hope Aunt Robin has some extra $$$ to put toward our rising unemployment insurance premiums.

This for sure is an interesting era. Slackers pushing back on RTO rule the roost and are running with it. Don’t think they realize that Robin is gathering data before he puts the hammer down. Don’t think they realize that Sub will be in weeks, not months. Part of this is that Robin has set out so many contradictory guidelines that he looked anything but decisive.

He gave us RSUs. He brought us back to the office slowly. He’s gotta be frustrated with the results. Pretty sure that his next move will be large, organized and painful.

the reports of swipes are made up, I know because I produce the reports.
I'm told to make some people look bad for RTO on purpose.

Most companies give two weeks pay, period, and you’re on unemployment and your savings. Of course at the bank even a Sub windfall is somehow a bad thing.

I heard the people with so called ‘exemptions’ will be told to either return or they will be terminated starting in July. There are teams that are going to lose half their employees lol

Didnt work in office 5 days before Covid either. But keep pushing your bnym propaganda.

Most people that aren’t complying have a phony excuse. The amount of ‘medical exemptions’ for going into an office where everyone was 5 days a week before covid is amazing. Y’all could work in an office then with no problem. Then you got a taste of WFH and all of a sudden aren’t medically able to work in an office anymore? GTFOH

It frightens me to even think that these coworkers work among us.

Robin has a clear green light to set our house in order. I, for one, have never seen so many incompetent slackers in

@OP

A flat 12 weeks is far more than a non compliant employee “supposedly” (LOL) deserves.

A flat 12 weeks is generous to the extreme.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… Todd did his best in an extremely challenging era, but he only succeeded in revealing how slackardly our entire workforce has become. Bash away people but your performance through Todd and now Robin is in the books.

You gamed Todd who was there to support you and you felt that you won. You’re gaming Robin and losing because Robin wants you to work. You don’t want to work? Please leave.

Instant Karma’s gonna get you, slap you right upside the head and it’s a beautiful thing.

Hello. As my manager reviewed with us if you are repeatedly in violation, yes disciplinary action can be taken. But I think it depends on your position with dept and (Manager) you have. I don’t think HR is strictly making the decision. They are leaving it up to some department heads. At the very least, it will be on your PMP so it may cause you to get a BE rating.

People were asked to start coming in a year ago. Why would they get more time to catch up?
