Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

When was AT&T last great?

It seems like it’s been a sh-t show since divestiture. Am I wrong?

It’s time to start living in the past. It’s time for each one of us to focus on the future.

Sounds like the RBOCs were the place to be, except SBC. A shame that the anti-trust issue didn’t hold, divestiture should never have been undone.

We are not AT&T - it is rebranded SBC. This is where innovation and creativity comes to die.

Same here, former Bellsouth not perfect but was a great company till Mr. Ackerman 60 mill golden parachute and company shived us. Sold out to SBC been in decline and became a toxic hellhole since that day.

For me, it was 1997 when SBC purchased PacBell (where I worked). After that PacBell was in a noticeable decline until it went off the cliff with the purchase of DirectTV and Time Warner. Very sad outcome for a company I used to be proud of.
