Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Not everyone is the same, but can Ford manglement recognize this truth?

"But Farley said he doesn’t see reductions in the number of factory employees or among engineers and other office workers. The company predicted it would sell 5.6 million vehicles in 2026 as global sales recover, and it will need workers to design and produce them, Farley said."

While it seems no layoffs are coming, according to Farley, I still have many questions. No reductions in the number of employees says nothing regarding quantity vs quality, outsourcing, deadwoods, DEI promotions, rewarding merit vs friends and family, etc. Is the company still planning to outsource the workforce to Mexico, India and Brazil? Are we planning to hire more talent? What safeguards are going to be in place to make sure we hire real talent and not fake talent like Farley, DF, FLV, and so many others at Ford?

My main concern is how I can trust in Farley's statements, when I don't trust Farley. GM said no layoffs, and look, a month later 500 were laid off, and they barely avoided more (so far) with the buyout of 5000 positions. Should I expect the same for Ford?

Why can Ford fall back on the F150 market, the men who bought made in the USA may not be so thrilled to buy made in Mexico. NA was their market, and they have done a number on it.

@1trz+1mKyxW5O that's great wording to use at your next PR:

I suspect the ultimate manifestation of my career transformation may follow a materially different path than that conveyed by this document.

From Reuters:
Barclays analyst Dan Levy in a research note on Tuesday called Ford "a show-me story."
Ford's presentations made clear the 120-year-old company faces hard choices over the next several years about where to compete, and where to retreat behind "moats," such as the pickup truck and commercial vehicle segments in North America and Europe.
"We suspect the ultimate manifestation of Ford’s transformation may follow a materially different path than that conveyed in Dearborn on Monday," Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a note on Tuesday.

It sounds like Adam Jonas called Farley a liar.

To bring us into the great reset/green new deal they destroy the energy policy of the United States. Recession if we are lucky but depression more likely.

Precipice?

“But, but, my 401(k) came back about 7%-8% from its lows so things are looking up”…

Market manipulation the opiate of the masses.

Yes you should expect the same from Ford. The difference will be that Fors’s cuts will be much deeper then 5k and then there will be layoffs once they don’t get enough volunteers.

Inflation masked recession. Once the reality of recession reveals itself, then a major contraction begins. Layoffs are assured.
