Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The truth about subscriptions…

Farley gave two numbers, he said we have $200,000,000 in subscription revenue from 600,000 subscribers, or about $333 each. At that rate, we only need another 33,000,000 subscribers to match the $10 BILLION in revenue generated by the F150.

Model e subscription team better get busy!

The Bi---h of it all is u pay for the hardware and the weight in the vehicle which reduces range/mileage and increases tire replacement in EVs. I am hoping consumers get smart and realize this fact.

He certainly is delusional. The insurance rates for the over-priced Fords has gone up that much. Add on maintenance costs due to shoddy design/workmanship,,,,,,,,,,,, highly unlikely customers pay another 100 a month.

Why get any subscriptions on an EV? Every option eats up battery life!

Farley was quoted as saying his expectations are customers will spend $100 PER MONTH ON FORD SUBSCRIPTIONS. He is delusional.

$135 in Canada to use navigation or $0 to use Waze with Apple car play. These people are nuts if they think this is going to be a major revenue stream.

It was interesting seeing that note from the subscription employee above. I could well believe it. They wanted $80/year to continue to allow me to use the navigation on my F150....a $15 cable (one time!) from the gas station, which I was going to buy anyway to charge my phone, and I get Waze, Apple Maps or Google Maps, which are far better, and in the case of Waze via Carplay warn me about police, traffic jams and debris on the road. We've already lost the battle against Apple/Google for the ICE world...I'd love to see Ford differentiate itself by embracing this fact and making the vehicles more compatible with the phones so that they can control the climate / etc... It won't happen because of the entrenched interests within PD and Ford IT, but a brother can live in hope.

Remember in 2015 with the first version of Ford pass, Ford was going to make billions on letting people book and pay for parking. 🤣🤣🤣😁

If anyone without the last name of Ford had been behind that they'd have been fired by the end of 2016. Yet Elena persists.....

@kzx+1mLiU2sM. This strategy has been presented for some time. Investors had an open mind and the markets responded with a declining stock price. This management has been a failure.

@kzx+1mLiU2sM I'm a Ford subscription employee. I'm telling you the truth. The vast majority of the $200 million is blue dollars. I can also tell you that the subscription renewal rate after the free trials are on the single digit percentage.

There is no future for Ford in subscription services.

With all the confident posts here you would think the participants in this forum are all leadership executive levels. But unfortunately, there is much here that is incorrect about the future growth and revenue with digital services and subscriptions. Please watch Lawler's video clip posted on the homepage. The strategy is clearly explained and how success comes from it. Watch it and keep an open mind.

How much per month to enable the headlights?

@qtk+1mLiU2sM, 100% agree. If those services are not dependent on content/information unique to the car/OEM, then you can safely bet Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon etc will offer it. As an example, in car Nav systems are outdated compared to cell phone maps.

@ztn+1mLiU2sM not only that (which is an excellent point) but 98% of the services that can be offered are also available via other devices. So car buyers do not want that.

I am really curious what subscriptions services automakers in general think they will offer that are "must haves or highly desirable" in the customers eyes. This is not like a monthly charge most of us pay for the cell phone, Internet etc. Many of those things are needed as tools in our day to day lives, not just wants. Even though many folks can afford stuff, doesn't mean they are willing to shell out their hard earned $$.

How many suckers are going to cough up $75/mo for BlueCruise ????

I would take that $200,000,000 figure with a huge grain of salt. Subscription trials are considered revenue as they come out of the marketing budget. It's a shell game. Get a free year of Blue Cruise? Yep, counts as a few hundred dollars is of revenue even though it is blue dollars.

Business might really pick up should Ford introduce a ‘Very G-y F150’ . Ford should roll out such a campaign in a place like Texas in the parking lot of a Target store. Invite Bud Lite to setup a stand. Show us what your leadership is really made of.

Apparently the Japanese reject woke ideology. Remember that.

Farley never mentioned the churn rate. I bet it’s super high so the 600,000 subscribers is meaningless.
