Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Our opinion is irrelevant here

I totally understand people's complaints because they think that coming to the office is a waste of time in most cases.
Venting is sometimes necessary, however, do our complaints change anything here? No.
I don't recall leadership ever taking into consideration employee feedback and making any changes accordingly.

@acjo, you apparently don't understand how a union works.
And it's India making teaching about the periodic table and Pythagorean optional.

Sure, a union will be a great idea. We’ll lose the top 20% within months and the slackers will be more miserable than ever because they will be pressured to deliver. Anybody check out American education results vs the rest of the world over the last 40 years of unionization?

Hi Mgmt! Nice of you to check in here! Hey, just a word of advice to ya...if YOU were really doing your job, you'd notice that I don't give a she it about mine and am purposely working Below Expectations. I've had enough of getting stiffed on my raises so I would really like to be let go so I can get Unemployment while I begin my next job search. Thought I'd clear that up for ya. Now do YOUR job!

Repeat after me… the fundamental role of a manager is to communicate goals to his team. You cannot possibly be a manager. Likely an items processing supervisor.

@7ywk, because you don't know how to do the job. And you're certainly not a manager if you're dishing out work. And based on your writing skills you're lucky you got to be a supervisor, which most companies would call a group leader...

Hi I’m management you’re speaking of . You’re correct 100%. Your opinions don’t count . Why do you think that is? Let me enlighten you all. Why do I care your opinion when you cannot get to work on time and I have to hand your hand to do your job.m? Please explain this. I guess Blaming mgmt for your poor performance is easier than accepting responsibility for not doing a good job. Oh well . I’ll still sleep good tonight regardless. GN clowns

There are good reasons why no banks are unionized. The top three are corruption, corruption and corruption. But go ahead and enjoy trying.

We can only hire Americans in our Union. No offshore workers from the Bank of Chenei, and definitely nobody who cuts out early to go off to follow the sun or other weird things.

Nothing will change at this company. That is, unless the bottom 90% of the US staff wake up and form a UNION.

This is an important forum to share our opinions and let each other know that we're not alone in our views. That in turn puts pressure on management via one on ones and mss. Although, the most relevant way to show our opinions is to vote with our feet and plenty of us will eventually.

Our opinions are like a Dr. Seuss book. They are irrelevant here, there, and everywhere!

Agree. Management might come here just to make sure nothing too truthful gets out there, particularly regarding the top leaders. An effective use of time and energy would be to organize.

How many managements do we have?

Our opinion is irrelevant here, but our opinions in team meetings and our submissions to Peakon are completely irrelevant. There’s likely some HR workers who read this, Glass Door, etc. Honest open feedback here is far too valuable to ignore.

Certainly this site validates their strategy of constantly cutting benefits to make people self select to leave. It is far cheaper to drive us away than to pay Sub, and actually Sub is THE next major cut. Heard rumors of 2 weeks total to 12 weeks total. I believe it to be true.

Apparently you weren't around when Charlie tried to force us back to the office and he got his grecian formula handed to him.

And FYI, Peakon is not changing anything either. I stopped replying. It only seemed to make things worse. Eventually it will go away and somehow we will be blamed.

I warn people not to apply to work here constantly. It’s difficult to describe how toxic BNYM is, and has been, for a very long time.

how do you create a constant environment of having to worry about your job? ask BNYM they know

No. Managements not changing anything because of this forum I’m sure. But it’s nice to know others feel similarly as you. And it’s nice to exchange information about this cr-p company. & hopefully spare others the misery of coming to work here.
