Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford is coming for Tesla!!!

Ford is poised to outperform Tesla in the next decade due to its established manufacturing expertise, diverse and expanding electric vehicle portfolio, strong commitment to charging infrastructure, embrace of cutting-edge technologies, and strong brand recognition and customer loyalty. With these advantages, Ford is positioning itself as a formidable competitor in the electric vehicle market, offering competitive pricing, a comprehensive lineup of EVs, and a seamless ownership experience. While Tesla has been a trailblazer, Ford’s solid foundation and customer-centric approach make it a strong contender for dominance in the evolving automotive industry.

“One of Tesla's main source of income isn't the sale of Teslas. It's the sale of carbon credits to other auto manufacturers.

WRONG!!!

Please actually look at an earnings statement.

Tesla’s 2022 sales of regulatory credits generated around $1.78b, while overall revenue was $81b. Tesla’s non GAAP income in 2022 was $14 billion.

Ford will end up licensing autopilot and FSD from Tesla. I give it 12 - 24 months.

Charging was first. With -102% margins on EVs, Ford will decide to stop burning internal money on ADAS and will license it from Tesla.

Ford only sold 12k BEV in first quarter. This is in same range as Rivian. Not sure who thinks they can compete with Tesla

Haha is Farley writing your jokes. Get real. More like ford will be bought by Tesla.

"How about we just focus on delivering our best products TODAY!"

What "best" products might those be? Do you have one without multiple recalls?

Tesla would be buying Ford real estate and plants. They would have zero interest in the employees as they would have to figure out which 10-15% are actually doing work (not on the friends and family plan) and they can’t rely on anything Ford leadership tells them or any of the PRs as they are all cr-p produced by Ford leadership. They darn sure would not have any interest in Ford leadership or BOD.

More likely some Chinese or Korean company buys Ford and then fires all the employees except plant workers. Then retools the plants to build their cars and trucks.

@1dti, instead, on top of canceling all sedan, we cancel all 2 row SUVs/cuvs too, and then announce the awesome new EVs are a 3 row Suv and a pickup. Which are.... 3 years away?

There's going to be nothing left to sell soon.

And then we sc--w over those who bought home chargers for Ford EVs by changing the plug standard? I guess we don't want current customers to be repeat customers. I'm sure there'll be adapters, but it all reeks of cluelessness.

Or are these plans in hope Tesla buys Ford?

The Tesla Model 2 is coming. Made in Nuevo León. Not many details released yet, but it is going to be a very low cost BEV.

If our gameplan is all in on BEV, we are in trouble.

@OP All this "catching up" to Tesla, "coming" for Tesla, is based on the wrong idea that Ford changes while Tesla stays still. The truth is that Tesla changes faster than Ford, and with each new change, the distance between both companies just gets bigger and bigger.

Ford should have growth the ICE truck business, should have improved SUV competitiveness, and should have stayed in the sedan market, instead of chasing the green unicorns, buying dilapidated properties in Detroit, and investing into the subscription money pit.

One of the courses that showed up in my mandatory training list was an AntiTrust course.
It was basically a 25 minute course in what not to say or write in emails/social media and what not to do - collude to price fix/corner markets/exlude suppliers/etc.
Then I see/hear our leaders publicly using the phrases the course warned against using, and doing the very things the course warned could cost the company billions.
What gives?

This stupid and ridiculous post is another example of ford's incompetent leadership's desperation. Farley and Lawler were laughed at this week's market days presentation. The stock is junk, Farley and team have no credibility. Everyone is aware the programs are delayed and the so-called subscription services teams are unable to deliver.
Shareholders are demanding accountability; terminate Farley and the outsiders immediately. Bottomline, if a " leader " is unable to generate profits through successful products, they must be removed. Ford has too many fakes in LL5/4/3/2 and CEO positions. It's time theyre exposed and eliminated.

Tesla has enough valuation and equity to buy out Ford, GM, and Stellantis five times over each, and dissolve or absorb the competing corporations entirely. Look at the market caps on all four companies, Ford, GM, and Stellantis don't even register.

It's not even David and Goliath close. It's a mosquito versus Goliath close.

Why is it that anything on here that’s positive about Ford gets 💩’d on?
Post ID: @qkd+1mNUTQhS

Because saying Ford is coming for Tesla is a factual stupid statement. It is more than that - it is a muthetfu----g asinine stupid statement!

Yes, I get the context is BEV only. However, this strategy would only work if Tesla was the only automotive manufacturer to be making BEV’s.

Totally glosses over the fact that every other automotive manufacturer and their brother & sisters will also be manufacturers g a shift in of BEV’s, too.

A sure way to lower costs is not just on the design and processes side (ie using less parts & people) but also on the manufacturing dude by producing and selling more units. Ford needs to go after VW and Toyota, not Tesla. Heck, in 5 years time the BEV sales from VW alone will make Tesla look like hobby manufacturer.

But I guess if you have low expectations you can’t disappoint as much…

@op, strong brand recognition and customer loyalty? Customer centric? Solid foundation? HAHAHAHA, you are a real piece of work. Our lack of focus on manufacturing quality products, our insistence on constantly screwing customers and suppliers are proof that your views are a little tilted.

Ford is coming for Tesla’s?

Does the insane clown posse member that posted this realize that if that is the case, Ford would slip to number 10 automotive manufacturer (as Tesla is number 11 at moment in terms of total sales) from number 4 or number 5?

Should Ford be gunning for the #1 (VW Group) or #2 Toyota instead of number 11?

I am so glad I retired from Ford last year with the brain trust that runs and works there currently.

What's funny is, the statement "Ford is coming for Tesla" directly implies we are behind.

"Ford is poised to outperform Tesla in the next decade"

Whoa! They better take heed. With statements like next decade, I am sure Tesla and everyone is scared.

Lets stop with the ego and the gorilla chest beating. How about we just focus on delivering our best products TODAY!
