Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Another 3% decline in the stock price today

Does anyone actually believe this RTO policy has anything to do with collaboration? This company may be in much deeper trouble than anyone imagined. They are throwing everything and everyone overboard to save a sinking ship. Not only do we have to worry about jobs, we now have to salvage what is left of our retirement accounts.

There is absolutely no oversight or governance by the BODs - they have permitted this inept management team to butcher this once great, historically proud company. What a disaster

Stank flat out lied on Bloomberg with his pompous statement that “we offer GENEROUS relocation packages. Our org VP told us yesterday that there IS NO RELO. And NO VIRTUAL OFFICE, despite Stank’s claim of 10%. Wish someone could call him out publicly on his lies. But, the general public couldn’t give a rat’s a-s about us.

With over 7 Billion outstanding shares and current cash flow problems, now is the time to cut or stop dividend payments to save this sinking ship and jobs.

Agreed. The company needs are greater than the wants of one man. They need to save the company.

I think RTO has a lot to do with company owned real estate that they can't jettison for 50¢ on the dollar.

The last time they were pushing for return to office was 2019, and look what happened. This time - it would be AT&T luck for a new Covid variant to show up and have everybody working virtual.

Stankey has lost 95% of employees. Collaborating is a thing of the past. Old school. Board of Directors needs to do their job and remove him. I read on SM he is the worst CEO in history of Telecommunications Companies. Our stock sucks. RSUs mean nothing anymore. Relocation is stupid. Think of all the divorces. I know several people who already quiet quitted and many waiting to go. Customer service horrible overseas - folks can’t understand their English. How much market cal have we lost under Stankey? Talked w a AVP who has lost interest & but is back on board with replacement.

OP: Your post didn't age well. Stock is down 5%, testing 15.00.

Could it be that our reaction is spooking investors? What about the Board, what will it take to spook them?

That DEI strategy is at work. Hiring unqualified, inept and incompetent people and using skin color, se-ual orientation as the qualifier for jobs is taking it's toll on this company, or what is left of this company and it won't be much on Dec 31 2023

AT&T will cut dividend to improve cash flow. Nothing else is working

Sold T off a few days ago at 16.8, whew. I had counted on dividends to make up the difference, but with the losses in principal, I would have to live to 150 to break even.

Also happy NOT to be a shareholder owning a piece of this foolishness.

Stock plunge could be a blessing in disguise, as it may be the only performance review Big Guy ever gets and even our Board of Directors has their limits.

The stock began to sink when Bloomberg posted the interview with JS on the day he announced the RTO and further headcount reduction. It has been going downhill since then as the investors saw that JS is doing a severe damage to the this company by announcing this non-sense RTO move. This RTO policy is the worst policy I've seen during my 20+ years working for this company.

"I have heard for 25 years that ATT is a sinking ship"

It DID sink in 2004-6. Were you asleep then?

AT&T is in deep trouble and this RTO strategy with such quick deadlines is an act of desperation by Stanky who has led this company down a black hole. $15.40 stock price and it was around $25 when they dumped the Warner cr-p on Discovery which is in big trouble because of the garbage they received from STANKEY!

Wasn’t AT&T bought by SBC and they decided to keep the AT&T name over SBC because of the global presence?
