No one wants a 2023 explorer sport track…I mean maverick.

I was excited to see the Maverick as it was a product our customers wanted. But alas according to Farley we no longer want those customers. 3 seat rows and above only baby. Not to worry the Toyota Stout is positioned to provide the product the customers want.

The Maverick is a nice product developed buy our Ford Blue (legacy) business arm. It is a suitable bridging product until the gen-II Model e products and services are released to the public. Maverick will not have much of a place in the line-up at that point but in the meantime it serves a useful purpose.

To : @1cyp+1mO4z5Qy you are absolutely correct. Today Ford uses customers and their families as human Petri dishes for safety and quality issues.

I can only imagine what the next disappointing recall will be and I am so grateful that my family is not ever a driver or passenger in a Ford.

I used to be proud that Ford notified their customers of problems, but now the frequency of recalls has gotten ridiculous as quality goes down. Honda and Toyota use to have silent recalls or blame the customer for the design defect. In Toyota's case it was poor crankcase ventilation on four cylinder engines that would gum up the oil and destroy the engine even if you did the recommended oil change schedule. Honda had a seatbelt recall that was not communicated to owners. You only became aware of it if you took the car into the dealer. They also had a non-public recall on manual transmission linkages binding up. No one is perfect.

That was thirty years ago when I was proud to work for Ford, now it is a dumpster fire. People running the business now have no practical experience in the departments they are running and the folks running the day to day in the plants are also clueless. The only thing these people know how to do is pinch pennies which ultimately destroys the capacities of the company to design and build a good dependable vehicle.

Who needs airbags? Cost save that out. Highway death rate is increasing with all this safety cr-p! Make people afraid to get into accidents and be courteous while driving instead of the a hole drivers we have out there.

Causing a recall gets you promoted. Management who wants to save a few pennies on a supplier part, or not go through the trouble of making a part correctly, or choosing a supplier that has the best tickets to local sporting events, these are the people who get promoted. If you are thinking that it's okay to sell a low quality vehicle and put your own interests first, you are on the fast track

Hey, if we can't get our expensive F series and SUVs built in the US right, how do you ever expect an extremely cheap, Mexican vehicle to be right? 🤣

You're joking, right?

I personally have seen recall-causers get promoted. Many times.

I hope Ford is determining root cause for each of these recall & quality issues, and putting the responsible people/groups at the top of the layoff list.
