Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Respond In Kind - Customer Service, Inside Sales, Business, and IT

I'm seeing this on two social media sites.

Current employees who know that their departments will be going away or shipped overseas are planning on purposely doing poor work.

I'm not sure how others feel about this. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I know that morale is terrible in CS. I know that Hans is being rewarded for tearing down a once proud domestic corporation.

Maybe, we should return the favor. Maybe, I'm wrong. I know I want to vomit when I read all the BS on our internal website. They don't care about us at all.

Is it time to push customers to other carriers?

Every company with high NPS has outstanding customer service that goes above and beyond its KPIs. You can’t get that when you outsource calls to reps who have no understanding, interest, or loyalty to Verizon.

For the person saying 5+ calls for a promo correction….. guaranteed you spoke with an offshore rep every time. And that will now be what you have to look forward to consistently. As an FYI- the majority of us took pride in our work, even when people would call in screaming bc they bought 5 phones as christmas gifts and then felt the pressure of having to pay for it all, as if it was our fault. In light of that, to the OP- don’t put your d-mb*ss ideas out there like all of us think like you. Am I upset? Absolutely. As a single parent living in a state where unemployment wont pay me in a month what I get in 1 check, I’m in a panic. And while I don’t care about VZ “integrity” anymore as they have lied and run it into the ground, I sure as he-l care about my own integrity. I would also ask you if you would like someone to treat you or anyone you care about the same way just because they were disgruntled with employment circumstances that have nothing to do with you or them. You sound like a jilted 13 yr old.

Doing a bad job is not a good idea. Think of all the time you have spent fixing accounts. No one should mess anything up on purpose. You are still getting paid to do the job so do it right. It is not like they just up and fired everyone on the spot. Don’t mess with your severance.

Just continue to misinform and tell customers wrong info like you always have….good grief. It took me 5 plus calls and then a letter to executive relations to get my trade in promo on my account. Kept being told it was a system glitch and to call back when all you people had to do was submit a Promo Escalation form.

If you don’t just use UIA and stop creating headaches for employees who have to clean up the mess. If you want to stick it to the man, don’t make it harder for the rest of regular employees to navigate with less support when layoffs happen.

It is not our customers fault This is happening so we can’t make them pay for it. I am going out with integrity.

There are innocent lives involved which will be negatively impacted. Send a written letter to the corporate ombudsman. Given the current CEO and the heir apparent have ruined the company in the last five (5) years.

Please get help and assistance. This commentary is unfair to the other remaining employees. This is a very bad idea.

Incredibly unethical and I’m pretty sure they thought about things like this happening in advance and there’s some type of clause to where you can be fired prior to last day of termination for violating the code of conduct. I cant imagine those caught doing this to not face any type of consequences.

Where is your integrity? You are no better than those you profess to want to pay back with this mindset. It sucks what is happening for sure but you would impact not only the customer but whoever has to take that next phone call. Your idea is a self fulfilling prophecy of demise.

So the plan is to mess with customers' accounts as "payback" for what occurred this week, huh?

Make a fellow brother or sister that has no fault in this situation, and who may be struggling badly, pay the consequences by messing with their service and potentially their bill?

Unbelievable. The reasoning of some people is just unbelievable. No wonder this country's in deep sh*t.
