Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Get rid of all DEI personnel

Since we are losing money, my dog had a higher net in Q1 than AT&T did... Having team of diversity, equity, and inclusion people doesn't seem to be helping. It's time to show them all the door and get rid of their stupidity that doesn't actually help anyone. They are all a waste of time and money.

Oh look ... another dingbat who needs to blame DEI for T's problems. Because, you know, it can't be on account of the executives making business blunder after business blunder. Nope, it has to be that darned DEI thing again.

The punchline is that the dipspits who blame DEI are the same ones who are outraged about "woke" -- but they don't know what either of those things actually is.

But hey, the coloreds and the liberals and the intellectuals are all on the DEI bandeagon, so let's just dislike it because ANGER MAGA RAGE.

Sigh.

"AT&T would have been a much successful company if the had truly embraced and applied DEI to the top positions and BOD."

Yes the problem with AT&T is there's no DEI at the top. Just look at the small percentage of white male CEOs who made the top list. It's disproportionate to the predominant number of white male CEOs.

To responding poster with white hate…
Removing DEI doesn’t equate to racist and all republicans aren’t extreme right just like all democrats are extreme left. Either way you lean, let’s leave out the hate. Posts that call DEI people garbage are racist but thoughts to the time and money & refocus on fixing the company and saving jobs is not.

If you got rid of DEI, the company would still be run by incompetent leadership. They would just be all white males. Blaming DEI is just showing racist attitudes. Did AT&T do better after Anne Chow retired? Stock price was $18.72 when she left. Now the stock price is $15.50.

They will be hiring many dr-g taking DEIers to take place of management and craft workers. No work will get done, but there will be plenty of DEIers sitting around doing nothing.

DEI at any corporation isn’t actually about the people, it’s about the corporation getting a high score on the annual ranking. There’s a company that ranks corps on DEI. That ranking helps corps to get a favorable rating with the banking system.
So as you can see, DEI is about money and nothing more. I feel sorry for folks who think itherwise.

That will include getting rid of you too, an old fa-t. Diversity is also based in background and age diversity too.

“ DEI is about working with someone from a different background you tw-t.”

But some backgrounds are not a recipe for success. It’s like having that one player on the team that brings the whole team down.

If DEI was a great as advertised and the demographics of the company have changed as reported, AT&T should be preforming better not worse…..right?

For those “diversity” hires in the last 3 years- I’m sorry you were lied too. I’m sorry that you were placed in a lose/lose situation. AT&T believed their own hype and thought because they made the decision it would work.

It’s not your fault you are too stupid for the jobs. It’s your parents and your education systems. Your parents didn’t care or get involved. Your public school was over run with kids who just needed to be watched during the day so the parents could sleep in. School became a place to get free food and supervision because your parents didn’t know how to support you. The they lied to you and said you would be something if you got a degree.

Once you got into college, because of affirmative action, it was no better. In order to receive grant money the colleges kept admitting you and passing along worthless pieces of paper saying you graduated, even if you are incapable of sacking groceries.

Now your company and colleagues suffer with your inability. The saddest part is you don’t see it. You assume you are a great success and you will teach your kids to be the same talentless, live off the system that “owes you” cr-ppy people.

DE&I is to give jobs to those who otherwise wouldn't be hired. They are hired based on qualifications not related to performing the job like skin color, se-ual orientation, transgender so you end up with unqualified people. The rest of the world is surpassing the US woke companies. Thankfully consumers are rejecting such advertising like in the case of Anheuser Busch. Being against DE&I is not racist and this that claim it is, they are the racist who see racism in every issue. DE&I is illogical and meritocracy is the way to go.

Maga guys on this board always try to blame DEI on every failure. A lot of the most successful big corporations are mich more diversified and inclusive than AT&T. The problem with AT&T is there are too many biased, narrow minded good old boys guys, especially those from SBC Texas, are at the helm. These are visionless, clueless, skilless and heartless people.

No way. Thanks to ESG scores, mutual funds wouldn't be able to invest in AT&T if they didn't have a DEI program.

Don't like it? Keep in mind our buddy "Ice Cream Joe" Biden changed the rules for 401k investments to focus on ESG score instead of financial performance. Like his boss said many years ago, elections have consequences.
