Whoever had the bright idea to make Charlotte a hub was smoking crack. Full of Wachovia people who are losers and incompetent. There is no one to hire posting all these jobs. Bring back our folks in. The other states that you axed. We need smart people back

@1zti+1mSjdFTZ Charlotte used to attract smart people, since about ten years ago it started attracting C players who love to drag the smart ones down. Add to that the "locals" who rode in years ago on the WF gravy train that couldn't get a job that pays this well anywhere else protecting their turf. I've seen a lot of backstabbing from long standing WF-ers in Charlotte towards smart talented people that make them feel insecure without even trying. The good ones are taken down and go elsewhere so you're seeing the C grade.
Lol, d-mb post. Been with WF for a long time and I moved to an area that was brought over from Wachovia and full of Wachovia people, and all the “stupid” sh-t they were doing was stuff they had to do because that’s how “Wells does it”. There were countless processes I learned about that would make sense doing a different way, and when I asked about why do we do it that way, they would tell me that IS how they did it when they were with Wachovia and now they don’t.
This complaint about Wachovia people wasn’t what I experienced.
If you talk to Wachovia people things were great before WF. If you talk to WF, things were great before Wachovia. It is possible for both statements to be true. The downfall likely was the merge and people being put in positions to lead teams at levels they were not qualified for. Remember when the merge happened there was a ton of horse trading. This function stays with WF legacy, that one stays with Wachovia legacy and this person that was managing it on a smaller scale all of a sudden doubled in size. Then they tried to merge systems or use half of this system mixed with half of that system, instead of starting fresh or cutting to one GOOD system.
I don’t blame any of the grunts on either side. I’ve worked with great people from Wachovia and great from WF (also turds on both sides). This falls solely on the management implementation of the merger. As you may remember everyone was expecting huge layoffs post merge, but instead they kept mostly both companies in tact and incorporated dual sites for backup. If they would have trimmed the population by 20-30% post-merge, i think this company would be operating much differently today.

Lol at the Wachovia dig. Wachovia was great. Talented, hard-working, team/family friendly, and plain good people. Then First Union took it down a notch. And Wells Fargo is a moral/ethical disaster.

Try to post and fill a job in Charlotte. I have now interviewed 15 people and still can’t find anyone with an IQ higher than 50. This post in 100 percent right. D-mb and d-mber!

There's no city in the world that makes a good hub, because hubs are fundamentally anachronistic in the information age. A talent pool with 300M people in it will always be superior to one with a fraction of that. Pick any city you want, the whole nation is always better and in many cases cheaper as well. We need to get rid of everyone in the dinosaur mindset that location is relevant for most workers. It's not, and hasn't been for years now.

Charlotte is literally a financial services hub. You have a better chance of poaching top talent from Charlotte than the Midwest. It’s also one of the fastest growing cities in the country and doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. This groups obsession with the OC is odd
Charlotte attracts no one smart and educated. Buyer a bunch of cotton picking tobacco smoking rednecks. Most people working in Charlotte have no college education. Mayberry RFD is right down the road.
