Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Subscription services / revenue and lack thereof

Ford has only Blue Cruise as a subscription service, this far most of the revenue us from Marketing. Customers have been clear that they are unwilling to pay the current cost, much less the increased cost announced.

So far, Franck Louis Victor tor and his team RESPONSIBLE for development of these things have only come up with ‘canopy” for vehicle security, but it is not available and at least a dozen competitors’ products can be purchased and installed today. I searched for canopy today because I’ve heard nothing about it since it failed at CES, the search for canopy gets TENTS. Moran hasn’t even optimized the Google search engine for his so called product.

General Motors is way ahead of us on the non vehicle revenue streams, yet we give these clowns three billion dollars a year to waste. When will the Ford family wake up and pull the plug on Farley and this team of clowns?

Meanwhile Audi is partnering with Cisco to bring Audi-Webex subscription app to the market.
Lovely more distracted drivers as we all know that the human brain does not truly multi-task even if the app is in “hands-free” mode. But hey they can attend meetings while hunting for a charger and then waiting 30 minutes for their EV to charge.

I purchase enough new(er) vehicles to know that vehicles are usually provided with one free year of service, whether it be Ford, GM, or Stellantis, or other. I tell them all that I don't want it, will never use it, or won't activate the feature.

There are many people that don't want these services, where even free won't cut it. I think these corporations severely overestimate the value of these services.

I’m shopping for a new vehicle, and one requirement for my purchase is all features I want are subscription free, now and forever, amen.

I used to pay $20/month for a subscription to the Detroit Free Press, it’s gone down to 99 cents per week, and if I refer any potential subscribers to them, they send me a $5 gift card. Ford is on the road to bankruptcy believing we can sell any subscription for $100/month.

I genuinely don't see myself paying for any subscription service with any vehicle I ever own. If gps navigation wasn't so readily available on phones, I would have considered paying for that. But nothing else is really worth it to me.

I read about a company making off road trail maps for Wranglers and Broncos etc. that users would subscribe to and view in an app or on the head unit screen. That isn't an interest to me, but that seems like a much better idea than what Ford is doing. That company (Trails OffRoad) is offering some thing that appeals to people's interests as opposed to Ford threatening to make heated seats a subscription service...

I pay less than $100 per month for all my subscriptions, including newspapers, magazines, iCloud and Prime. If they are basing business decisions on these inflated prices Ford will be bankrupt.

I would have paid for a yearly DPS6 subscription. Every 12 months Ford changes out the transmission.

Still would have left me without transportation for 2 or 3 months out of the year.

Most of the people on this forum are not Model E new comers who think they know everything about a company they have barely worked for.

FLV and CM cost Ford $6million in salary per year to work at losing $3 BILLION per year. When will the Ford family wake up and go back to Henry’s winning business plan?

I suspected as much, but now I know for a fact people who participate in this forum are not Ford employees or were employed by Ford.

While BlueCruise is a tremendous service for customers, equally impressive is Ford Pro Commercial Vehicles Data Services offerings that have been over-viewed in town halls and other internal communications. Look it up, get educated.

The onl6 “subscription” I would be interested in buying with a new vehicle is one for all recommended maintenance, like oil changes, tire rotation, etc. but I think that would involve the dealers that Farley said we don’t need.

Even with a recent increase, I pay Apple less than $50 per month for iCloud storage for 20,000 photos, Apple TV, and Apple Music, all of which I use every day. I pay Amazon’s Ring less than $25 per month for cameras that monitor my home and vehicles 24/7. There is nothing Ford can offer that I would pay $75 per month for.

Farley, when you read this, tell FLV and team to go rework their spreadsheets.
