I retired from WF in July 2022. Today in the mail I received a notice from payroll that I was overpaid $15.60 on my last paycheck for used, unaccrued PTO. That is not a typo on the dollar amount. I am asked to write a check or call and give my credit card as option one and option two. After all the tax implications and legal disclaimers the last line says: “Finally, please note if you leave Wells Fargo with a repayment obligation, you will be ineligible for rehire until the repayment obligation is satisfied.” I pick that one! But wait the story gets better. In March of this year I get a random payroll deposit of $182. No mail or advice to tell me why. I immediately notified my former manager to find out what it was for and never got a reply. Today I text manager w copy of this letter and also asked about the outcome of the unexplained deposit. Comment from manager: so you received $182 unexplained free money and you are upset about paying $15. Too much time in the sun? My exact reply back: Seriously? F u on that comment. I asked in March to have that checked because I bet I get a letter in a year telling me that was an overpayment.
I know there are folks that read this board that know me personally. You can’t make this sh** up. 34 years I spent there. Glad I’m gone. To my friends still working there I promise there is life beyond WF.

Don't pay it unless you intend to return to WF. I know of others in this predicament. They did not pay it back; one case was over $3K. You did not make the mistake.

Ask for a payment plans. $1.33 for the next 12 months. You’re on a fixed income so this is reasonable.

If you're retired why do you care about your credit rating? That's the nice thing about being retired; no debt, kids out the house .... all you get to do is spend money on yourself for a change.

Leadership and management don’t give a flying f**k anymore about shareholders, customers or employees. Write a check for 1 billion to settle a shareholder lawsuit then chase a retired employee a year later for some fraction of an hour of unaccrued PTO. I’m LMAO at the irony here. TGIF.
