Seems to be the case. Reports from your area?

You'll have to cut people anyway. There must always be a sacrifice to the Gods of the ELT.

While no hiring freeze in my space I am pausing. Financial plans and budgets for FY24 are in development and the bookings miss last quarter is concerning. I don’t want to hire folks now only to have to cut 6-months from now should things not turn around.

"I’m hiring right now, open req and interviewing people"

Are you considering people that were LRd and past their exit date?

If not, why not?

Applied to positions that were absolutely ideal, have good references, and got nowhere. Seems to be the assumption that all that were LRd deserved it. I didn't deserve my product area being cut (and was trying to get out before that occured).

AI is taking over. HR, accounting, finance will hardest hit. Maybe I should become a janitor at Cisco, no AI can do that.

Selective hiring is always on-going, only need VP's signature to hire someone

My HR contact said they need to freeze before the August layoff to cover potential legal issues

Appears to be the case. I am in UK. Applied for an open internal position. The position has disappeared but application status says its under process.
