Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Macys should seek a Retail Therapist

It’s not a matter of IF that little minx of a Goddess will leave you again…it’s WHEN. Macy’s…break the cycle! More validation that the 2020 reorg was a complete bust. The leaders stay and just reinvent old strategies as new, brilliant out of the box thinking.

CDS cannot sustain Nike’s growth alone. The wholesale channel is also needed and Nike inking a new deal with Macy’s is indication of that. I expect others who were kicked to the curb will be reined in the not too distant future.

It takes market saturation to grow a $50B+ business by the numbers Nike talks. Need those brick and mortar retailers to help make that happen.

Time for JD and his leadership team to go. Need a Nike insider as CEO.

Nike is now relearning that retail doesn’t just exist for marginal sales. A lot of longer term brand loyalty has a grassroots start at retail. Including and especially at those “mom and pop” retailers that Nike kicked to the curb.

The two times Nike has taken on a CEO not from within it has spelled trouble for the company. There’s still time to right the ship but the window is getting more and more narrow.

I think they’re jaded because we bailed on Macy’s a while back but now we signed up another deal with them. Question was it us throwing them a life line or Nike’s strategy not working? Personally I think a little bit of both.
