Performance Improvement Plans and rehiring

If I resign while under a performance improvement plan, am I added to the Do Not Hire list? Can I come back later into a different position? After a year or so? Wells is a major employer in my town. I am in a hub city.

Anyone know? Business dependent?

No, handbook states if you voluntarily depart the organization the former employee has to wait 6mths before he/she can reapply for a role. 12mths if termed. However, if already on a pip could be positioned as non-rehire.

Performance issues are not a reason managers or HR can mark as ineligible for rehire.

If you're on a PIP, why would Wells hire you back?

Resigning under a PIP does not make you ineligible for rehire. Just leave in the normal acceptable way and you’ll be fine. It won’t be a hit on potential employer verifications or anything like that. No dumpster fires, be a pro about it. Its a fairly small world in a hub and people will remember and appreciate a graceful exit. Why in the world you would want to come back is a giant mystery but good luck out there.

They will make sure to not rehire you. If you are on a PIP you will be axed so find another employer

Ewww. That word structure, it's so HR'ish. Gaack! Wells, as in the bank? ... you know, there are PLENTY of foreign owned businesses in the states who don't play stupid HR games. The interview starts with a simple question: "What can you do?". Get a firm grip on the answer to that and tell douchebag American companies and their HR hacks to get bent.
