Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

July 20 will be interesting

Second quarter earnings are going to be announced on July 20. Will Stanley be able to show he's made more the 1 billion toward the 2023 goal of 16 billion in FCF?

If no significant progress, we may see him go p0st@l with reductions in Q3 and Q4. I foresee a lot of merry x-mas notices going out like they did years ago. Buckle Up!

He’s too arrogant to back pedal. That would require an ounce of integrity and he has none. It is usually arrogance that does someone in. I believe the dominos are about to fall. For the love of all that is holy, I pray he is soon removed to spare the good people who are left and have been so unjustly caught up in the collateral of his poor decisions. He has taken a great company and turned it into an embarrassment. I refuse to be lead by a failure. I cannot follow someone I do not respect. I will put in my 40 hours a week but to he-l with giving them a second more. He took a smart, loyal team player and made me a slacker by my standards. He owes the word disgrace an apology.

T’s management of the business is like a small leak in a roof that has been ignored for 10 years. Now the water is pouring in and the roof is rotted…fitting metaphor.

I've been listening to the quarterly calls as a shareholder for years.

The changes in tune have been breathtaking. Buys TW and talks to the analysts like John Stankey is the second coming of Samuel L. Goldwyn. Then, on the next call three months later acts as if that never happened, that we were pure and simple focused on telecomm.

The financial media on these calls is polite but they're listening and looking at the numbers. That's why the market never rewards these rosy reports. These guys lost credibility years ago.

The free-cash-flow debacle is merely the latest example. Anyone leading this company would have to address that with cost cuts, and labor is a big piece of cost.

A normal layoff would involves carefully calibrated age and diversity requirements, all of which takes expensive planning and opens exposure to litigation.

But job role moves instead? We cut labor costs quickly without having to consider EEO or diversity, or even having to offer severance—just move the roles and voila, 15 % of the workforce has to relocate themselves or be gone. Plus it gives some cover for all the money sunk into renovating offices and plazas.

These are executives whose feelings get hurt when their town hall isn't standing room only. They don't even drive themselves, much less configure VPNs or remote clients. So not surprising for For them the costs of parking, vehicles (not to mention drivers and pilots) is pocket change at their level of compensation. When you're at home, your IT savvy staff is not in the next room. We sell this stuff but use it.

Too much debt service, unsustainable. The Compnay will be fully in divestiture mode before the end of 2023. It will be split and sold, with only a small part retaining the T brand…

New leadership is necessary for survival.

How many bad examples of bad leadership need to be listed?
How many dollars wasted in the name of poor leadership?

The list goes on.

Stock will probably be in the $10 neighborhood by then.

The reality is that AT&T cannot continue in its present state and hasn't been able to for a long time. At this point, massive cuts are a necessary requirement for survival.

He has already gone postal with this RTO policy. If executive leadership doesn't back pedal. Results will be catastrophic.

That would be ok with me. I'm getting tired of Stankey's incompetence anyway
