"AT&T should pull an Elon Musk and get rid of 80% of employees to make company profitable. "
Whoever proposed this clearly did not consider themselves in the 80% of employees that he thinks the company should get rid of. This kind of person who wished ill fate on their peer workers should be the first to be kicked out.
Not me, I deal with the engineers ,so the customer doesn't have too.
Not me, I’m one of the good MBAs
"Any good MBA student knows you can chop about 30% of a company’s bottom performing people and due just fine."
And that kind of MBA thinking is precisely why MBAs have been a pernicious influence for years. All they can see is the cost on a spreadsheet. They are notoriously incapable of seeing value in anything but their own work.

"just a drop in the bucket, they probably did not do much anyway"

How shameful you guys are just happy it's not you. People like you who had shown no humanity should be the fist to go. The people who got cut are in general much better performers than those who got to stay simply based on their work locations or political skills.
"I'm ready and willing to go, just provide me the incentive...show me the money!"
You waited too long. You are simply going to be shown the door.
I'm ready and willing to go, just provide me the incentive...show me the money!
So true. There are many, many employees that provide no value and are actually a negative impact on results.
This company, like all systems, survives by Pareto’s Principle.
