Family Treatment affects the kids

Imagine a loving family with 2 parents and 4 kids living in a big house in which all kids have their own room decorated just for them.

Parents are doing great and get biggest salaries ever, but decide to move all kids into a common bedroom with no assigned beds. No plans for the empty bedrooms, May leave them empty or May rent them out for Pennie’s compared to the parent’s income.

Would the parents be considered loving or even caring? Would the kids love their parents more for cramming them together just to create empty space?

Maybe in the Twilight Zone.

PS: At same time, the parents have the Master Bedroom redecorated and show no sympathy towards their kids.

Great analogy.

I actually try to treat coworkers with same respect as family, except id--ts that try to take credit for my work.

EM treats employees as commodities that can be replaced with overseas lower quality items.

Never ever think of work in the same context as family. If you do, you are setting yourself up for a heartache. Work is work, you are compensated for that work. If you are lucky, you may form a few friendships on the way. Those are rare.

Do your work to the best of your abilities. Take the opportunity to learn and do something meaningful that you can be proud of when you retire. Don’t ever doubt your worth despite what you were told.

It’s not really about the office or lack there of. It’s more about treating people fairly and with respect. And working with people who you trust and they trust you. And more importantly, having real leaders who genuinely care. The ones who are in the trenches with you through thick and thin.

Trust was broken and it may never return.

Well, they can NSI their kids and get rid of them after failing their PIPs. They are not abandoning their kids, it is just that the kids performances were not acceptable. Then they can go to India where there are lots of children and get a few for pennies on the dollar. I think children in India are now for sale. Something like buy one get ten free. Done. A big happy family again.

We need to reduce headcount from 63,000 employees to approximately 50,000 employees in the near term.

Expect more of these decisions to occur to encourage employees to quit before they are eventually NSI'd. Our management job is to reduce headcount and avoid the pitfalls of some judge legally calling it a "LAYOFF" in a court of law.

Those parents are inspiring those kids to run away so they can replace them with new kids from third world countries that, according to the TV campaigns, can be fed for as little as 39 cents per day.

Indeed not, but providing a normal, productive work environment is not only realistic, it is also profitable for a corporation. EM’s “hot-desking” policy could only be invented, approved and applied by a corporation who hates and despises its employees, who is willing to take a hit in productivity just to humiliate and annoy “commoners”.

Seriously hot desking is not that bad. The bathrooms still have doors on them, I go to the bathroom at least 5 times per day. No concerns about the toilet paper because I am just sitting there.

That kind of unwarranted treatment screams Root Cause of future issues.

Kids scarred for life.

Kids will run away and live on streets.
