Friends and Family Plan Never Ends

“We've worked very hard together,” she said of the team's hundreds of engineers, launch, finance, plant and marketing people. Her perspective is unique because her family experience illustrates a deep understanding of what it takes to bring a car to life, having come from a Ford family and marrying into one, too. Her husband, sons and daughter all work for the Dearborn automaker now, in everything from supply chain and material planning to logistics and finance.

Does Friends and Family make F a better place? I think it enables the sense of entitlement we see in many.

Bill was the one to hire Hackett and Farley, but Mark Fields seemed to be favored by Mulally as his successor early on, based on the anecdotes about Mulally's initial staff meetings. I wonder how things would have worked if Hinrichs had gotten the Ford CEO job? Hinrichs seems to be doing well running CSX from what I can tell.

@bin Boy, you got that right.... He was a disaster as a CEO, lucked into hiring Mulally, then hired a finance guy, a furniture guy and a marketing guy. If I was standing next to billy at the craps table, I would bet against him every roll and get rich. He's the George Costanza of business.

“Bill Jr is the face of failed family leadership. He’s saddled us with three consecutive incompetent CEOs.”

None of you seem to understand-Billy Boy blunder is the secret CEO of Ford. Those CEO’s are implementing his policies and project. Bill Ford Jr. is the ultimate failure.
