Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Do less, live longer

You'll feel even worse when you work hard all year only to get the exact same block rating and raise as the guy who sleeps during teams meetings and didn't meet his goals. Do less, live longer. Always remember this when working at Honeywell - your hard work will only benefit those above you, but never you.

This is absolutely true. Honeywell hasn't been the company that rewards hard work for years. These days, there are no incentives to give it your all. No proper raises, no proper bonuses, and even promotions go to a-s-kissers or relatives. Why bother giving it any more than your minimum?

Just today I was thinking of another project to sell off some excess inventory with a specific customer and then mid thought I said to myself: "why do this? This is just extra work for which I get no benefit from"....and then I deleted the idea. I'm done thinking of new ways to make this place extra money when all they do is take from us. No more of that! I'll just be coming in and making the donuts, then going home.

There will always be the dutiful drudge who will stay on the hamster wheel, delighted for the odd scrap tossed their way, always hankering for the master's praise.

I'm happy to see my post being re shared :). It's absolutely true and as a 16 year HON veteran, I can tell you that working at HON is a one way street. You are expected to work hard and "think big" but when you do, all that goodness is taken from and kept by your manager and their manager and their manager, etc. Mad dog benefits, the company benefits, you manager benefits but what do YOU get? A mention on a PowerPoint slide during some clown hall? Maybe a $100 bravo? Maybe you'll get an extra 1% on your raise. Yea that's fair compensation for earning the corporation millions of dollars. Then once you do that, your are then expected to keep doing it!

Working here reminds me of a quote from a movie:
"I got tired of coming up with last-minute desperate solutions to impossible problems created by other F*ing people".

Just remember, your hard work is expected, not rewarded. Do less, live longer. Don't concern yourself with the stress of this company or this job. If it ships, it ships. Who cares if HON doesn't ship another 10 units? You don't see another dime! So let mad dog and his lapdog H.P do the worrying- that's why they make millions doing essentially nothing.
