Looks like managment will be taking another haircut. Still too many positions deemed ineffective.
Not as many in craft, but will be happening at some point.

Not much craft means layoff proof
I’ve never understood all the L2 manager hate from craft. You guys do realize most L2 “managers” are just office worker bees and don’t manage anyone, don’t have a union, don’t have any negotiating power, no overtime, higher cost medical, no retirement and get treated like total garbage from the higher ups. They just have different jobs like sales, customer service, finance, accountants, web development, project management, analytics, etc. Not to mention they totally support and pull for craft during labor disputes. Don’t hate on those folks. They aren’t getting rich and most don’t make as much as craft does.
That’s already happened to our crew once, perms and core but they changed it back when a management reduction happened. They reconstituted two core crews back and same for the Prem/wire techs.
Facts! Prem and repair crews already trialing us being combined. Both groups are bare bone headcount.
Some management groups being combined at lower levels will cause surpluses in management. Craft seems to just have skeleton crews to barely achieve objectives.
Any thoughts?
