15000 Layoffs on the horizon

My manager told me today that there is a plan to layoff a further 15000 people at the end of April, has anyone heard the same?

Confirmed sadly. The first announcements will happen tomorrow. Likely US and India will be hardest hit

I heard from Gray Clark in confidence that the number will be higher than 15K

Does anyone have any credible information about timeline for up coming WFR? I have heard enough rumblings (from other sources) to believe there is another fairly sizable round, equivalent to February, coming. I've heard at least 3 different dates, the first being next Monday, second was later in May and the third all the way out until the end of the half. I don't thing the rumblings would be this loud if it wasn't until the end of Q2. Also any specific orgs? Our was hit pretty hard in February.

If it’s bigger than FEB, it will be announced same as the earlier 5%

They could lay off 50000 and it wouldn't hurt the bottom line. The p-e ons do all the work on the manufacturing floor and white collar people sit at home and twiddle thumbs while also collecting multiple paychecks from other jobs, where they do just as little. LOL. I'm one of them!! Dell management are ID--TS!!!

what is the number and when it is going to happen....based on your 'planning calls'

15k? Not remotely the number I am hearing in planning calls. Bigger than Feb, but not as big as you are saying.

6 people were laid off last week in my area...twice as many as the first time, so I believe the ramp up has begun, and whilst 15,000 would be alot, I believe it will be more than the 6500 the first round, so likely 12K-13K more to go. Departments are about to be consolidated and/or closed down. we have been merged into another group who have similiar skillsets, but across different products, so that will be the way moving forward. More products/work to do, with less staff to do it. You will all know in the next 2-4 weeks.

Letting go of 15k people would get things done faster that's for sure. I have never been part of an organization that wraps its employees up in so much red tape.

While I dont think 15,000 are the numbers I also dont think this poster is trolling like some have mentioned.1500 however would seem a likely number based on what I am am seeing. If 15,000 was the correct number we would have nobody to even turn on the lights at this stage in ths game.
Maybe im wrong.
