Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Markets are ignoring early signs of recession!

It is interesting to see how things are being sugar coated. The investors are careful where they want to invest their money, while at BNY everything's great. The quarterly earnings and how prosperous the Employees are. King Robin is in charge and no losses, there's no room for improvement. The silence before the Storm and nobody is prepared.

Early signs of recession were over two years ago. We call it Inauguration Day.

Be easy on financial fools. He’s probably still trying to finish up taxes and struggling to comprehend his RSUs.

@1xdh,
No doubt there will continue to be id--tic spending and money taken from the productive private sector to be handed out to lefty cronies. It's been like that for decades. I also have the Industrial Photovoltaic Complex using my tax money to clear cut vegetation in my front yard to contaminate it with massive, useless, ugly electric complexes.
And even though the rate hikes are SUPPOSED to cause a recession, you underestimate current innovations that will increase production so much that the industrial revolution will look like a little blip in the stone age.

Can anybody here name any commodity that holds it value less than gold?

I bet that you can’t, and there isn’t one. In 1979 an ounce of gold was worth $500. A 1979 dollar is equivalent is worth $4.16 today. If an ounce of gold really was a hedge against inflation it should be worth $2,300 in today’s dollar. It’s not, this tend is long term and won’t ever be changing.

@rhc, quit the fear mongering. If you think a metal that can be mined and manufactured is a safe place to keep your wealth, have at it. And it also doesn't really matter if oil or anything else is settled in USD.

If you're reacting to whether the economy is growing at 3% or contracting at 3%, you're a fool. Either way, more stuff is being created and always will.
