Of course!
How else are they going to drive down salaries?

Flavorless fast food? Oh good. I'm not crazy.
BTW - There is some sort of county insurance that you can pay up front for ambulance services. It was $60 or so last year.

How many h1b visas does Cisco hire from France, Germany, England, Switzerland, or Luxerbourg?

I can't see why they wouldn't want to come here. We have flavorless fast food, you can get shot, an ambulance ride is only $5,000 and we have both kinds of healtcare: leeches and prednisone. Plus we're number one in the belief in Angels and cat ownership!

"Mine was that the candidates that passed the interview were mostly H1B holders."

It's a matter of control. You are bringing third world labor law culture to America soil. Design pointless interviews that filter out anyone with self respect, and you've got a pool of interview candidates from third world countries.

"needed" or not is not the point. Some groups some where will have openings to hire, and the candidates they end up could be H1B holders, or even a F1 student with practice training. In the same way, company's off-shore folks may apply for US openings and emerge as the best fit, so they will come as L1s. The question is: why those openings end up have only H1B candidates to choice from? Different folks have different experience and theory on that. Mine was that the candidates that passed the interview were mostly H1B holders.

"Why hire H1B workers when you have offices in India and other countries?"

You have more control over the H1B visa worker, and they are separated from their family/community. Their entire life revolves around career and obtaining a green card.

The government benefits by keeping the money in America. Corporations benefit by providing them credit for vehicles, homes, and education... not to mention all the apartment rental income from immigrants.

Yes... H1b pushes down wages, and you can work them longer hours. Also they are entirely dependent on the company for visa sponsorship.

Why hire H1B workers when you have offices in India and other countries? Just hire them there and pay the lower real estate costs, lower wage costs, lower taxes, etc. No need to pay the sponsorship costs.

As a shareholder, I vote for more H1b visas and less Americans. Make the Americans work at Walmart or Amazon warehouses and receive government assistance.
