Intel Slumps on Sapphire Rapids Troubles

Those who were looking for the Sapphire Rapids chip to solve Intel’s (NASDAQ:INTC) momentum troubles just had their hopes dashed. Intel’s slumping a bit in Monday afternoon trading as the new chip is hitting a sluggish patch of demand. Worse, it’s not likely to improve any time soon.

@1woy - Completely agree. @1yyg is the Tucker Carlson of Intel. Lying all the way until getting kicked to the curb.

@1yyg, really dude, all evidence points towards the company sucking at everything it does. What evidence do you have to the contrary? You are delusional. The random analysts you put down are looking at the data. If Intel gets even the slightest opportunity to f something up, they take it. Go on collecting your inflated compensation package and thinking the world is great. Don't be surprised when you are out on the street.

Server SKU sales cycles are long. The SPR cash, if ever, should start showing up in a couple of Qs at best. Perhaps the hopes for that are what the promises to restore comp later in the year are based on. We'll see.

Talked to a major reseller for Intel, it is true not too much of sales with SPR skus, and to add salt to the wound...skus published are not readily available due to manufacturing delays. Expect a bad Q1 results.

Same old rehashed excuses, cyclical industry, customers digesting inventory, etc. How about telling the truth and own up to the fact that SPR delays caused it to be uncompetitive vs AMD EPYC. SPR might have been competitive with Milan, but not Genoa.

who did not know the demand is bad? Samsung, Micron, TSMC, etc all anticipate bad quarter. Semis are taking hits due to demand but this might be the trough as demand will pick up for back-to-school and Christmas. It is a cyclical industry.
