Verizon Video losing customers

Verizon Video continues to report customer loss due to cord cutting. They mention a streaming service launching? If it’s anything like that G090 disaster it will certainly fail. Also why is the video units still using Motorola and Cisco boxes in the field. Seems like extra unnecessary costs. I’ve been a fios customer and besides the entry price point compare with Comcast the service sucks

Based on verizons failed attempt with redbox online by verizon and redbox still havong streaming which isn’t doing well I expect VZ to buy it. Instant streaming. Maybe they’ll get tubi instead after all the ad money they spent there.

Since the current technological platform is still radio spectrum/ QAM delivery, you need to have a box at the user end to receive said spectrum which essentially gives you every channel at the box with minimal latency compared to streaming.. The legacy boxes will/are be replaced with the new VMS boxes which are transitional to GPON2,(They will have an RF from the box initially and then transition to ethernet only. Clients wifi and HDMI to the TV., but come he-l or high water.., streaming is coming.

What would be nice though is that they ACTUALLY attempt to compete and shop that to people living outside of the footprint whom have a fast enough wireless connection enabling them to get FiOS internet coupled with FiOS TV. Tower throughput/backhaul could be another issue I suppose.

Whereas it is wireless and they are not encumbered by Net Neutrality, would they be free of franchise licenses? That may be the issue to what I suggest.

Otherwise, lowball these ComCrust creatures and the like gaining subscriber-ship which puts you in a better position to negotiate with content providers for pricing.

How they paid approximately $250 million ($500 was the original price.. Can you imagine???) for OnCue not realizing or suspecting they might be buying an albatross is ponderous.

Soft landing in those golden parachutes for those in leadership for that one.

Cracks me up I tell ya..

Hey but at least enough of you got the Fauci Sauce to help in securing a couple of Federal contracts worth a few
$billion so there’s that welfare conflict of interest revenue stream.

Go90 was a tik Tok and YouTube wannabe. Streaming of linear channels is like traditional cable tv.
